In this workplace comedy from writer/executive producer/star Quinta Brunson (A Black Lady Sketch Show) and executive producers Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker (Harley Quinn), a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds against them, they are determined to help their students succeed. The staff at Abbott Elementary includes Janine (Brunson), an optimistic and slightly naïve second grade teacher; Gregory, a substitute-turned-permanent teacher; Ava, the unprincipled new principal; Jacob, an overtly liberal, try-hard history teacher; Melissa, a tough, longtime teacher with a well-controlled classroom; and Barbara, a highly respected matriarch-like teacher. Though outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.

Funniest Show on TV Right Now
I started Abbott Elementary this year, on the second season. I ordered the first season and I am so glad I did. It is funny and smart and I really enjoy it.

Rarely have I watch a show that had me laughing in less than 5 minutes
Also everything in the show I have seen actually happen in school. I work with Sheryl Lee Ralph type characters. Now there is an issue I have with the show mainly Tyler James Williams's character-unless the process to be a principal of school is different in every state-his character couldn't become one without spending X amount of time as a teacher and have certification. If he had principal certification-he should be able to at least be a substitute principal.I do want to offer kudos to the show for have a gay character that does not act stereotypical-he is written as a person-who just happens to be gay. He is relatable and interesting.Additional kudos to the kids and how they are written. None of the kids in the hood and are always bad portrayals that we have seen from other shows. Yes those kids exist but not every show should only showcase those type of kids.

One of the funniest shows ever
Love.this.show. Casting is spot on perfection. So well written, directed, and acted. Even the children in the show are naturals. The facial nuances and peeks at the camera are hilarious. Great show!

5 stars for the show, only three for the packaging.
Poorly packaged, The show is a great show.

Too frighteningly true to life to be entertaining.
I was hoping after hearing about it that it was as funny as people said. But the wrighting is so detailed and so true about the obstacles students and teachers face that I couldn't watch it on a screen after being in it all day. I do hope that all of the messages that are intended get recognized.
