Visually spectacular, intensely action-packed and powerfully prophetic since its debut, Blade Runner dazzles in Ridley Scott’s definitive Final Cut, including extended scenes and special effects. In a signature role as 21st-century detective Rick Deckard, Harrison Ford bring his masculine-yet-vulnerable presence to this stylish noir thriller. In a future of high-tech possibility soured by urban and social decay, Deckard hunts for fugitive, murderous replicants – and is drawn to a mystery woman whose secrets may undermine his soul Disc 1 – Blade Runner: The Final Cut – (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) · 4K remastered trailer · Introduction and Commentary by Director Ridley Scott · Commentary by Executive Producer/Screenwriter Hampton Fancher, Screenwriter David Peoples, Producer Michael Deeley and Production Executive Katherine Haber · Commentary by Visual Futurist Syd Mead, Production Designer Lawrence G. It looks great on the 4K disc and the extras, especially the feature-length documentary, are terrific. A must-have for anyone who likes the film Review: An EXCELLENT 4K HD DVD for your collection. A MUST HAVE. - What a stellar job in the 4K rendition of this movie. Both the Video and Audio are well=presented and upgraded from the original release so many years ago, which I saw at the Theaters when it was first released. It also is a perfect segue for BR 2049, which builds-upon the greatness of this original story. If you have a great display and audio system, you want this.

A visually improved version of the Director's Cut.
Being a longtime fan of Blade Runner, there was one thing that I hoped for in this "final cut" of the film: that it would simply be a remastered version of the "director's cut," which it is. I loved the original film despite Deckard's unnecessary narrative (which I felt both detracted from the mood of the film and insulted my intelligence), but I very much prefer the Director's Cut. This thankfully unnarrated Final Cut adds some length to a few scenes, shortens a couple of others, all of which are improvements, but the digital remastering is what really makes it worth adding one more Blade Runner version to your collection. The colors are more vibrant and realistic, and visual quality is crystal clear. I did find it necessary to turn out the lights while watching it: the remastering has made every scene even more dimly lit than they appear in the prior versions (at least on my TV). I haven't yet watched the extra features included on the other disks in this four-disk set. My primary purpose in buying this was to get the remastered version with improved visual effects, and everything else is just a bonus. I decided to write this review to correct some confusing discrepancies in a couple of other reviews posted here, especially regarding the voice-over narrative, which some people claim was restored in this final cut. That nearly discouraged me from buying it, but I'm glad I did.

Just Gorgeous Looking Transfer (with glitches)
Even though I had to send this disc back to playback glitches (a problem I've had with quite a few 4K discs), when it did play the quality of the transfer and image quality was just stunning. Amazing for a film this old. Such fine detail and sharpness, with accurate colors that just popped. Even better than Blade Runner 2049 in picture quality (though not in story or acting)

The best edition of this stunning movie
This is the 3rd media version of this movie I own, and it is the best. My first version is a Laser Disc that only has Analog Stereo. It blew my sock off back then. Since my Laser player (Pioneer 3030) was getting a bit long in tooth, I bought the DVD. That had a better image and Digital Stereo audio And Now.... This 4K Blu Ray. OMG the UHD image is the smoothest and now it has 5.1 surround Audio (a directors remix of the original tapes) Well worth the re purchase if you have a 4K TV and a surround system

A+ Classic movie, Ok 4K Transfer
Blade Runner is a 10/10 A+ movie for me. My review is not of the movie itself but rather of the 4K Disc. I am only giving this movie 4/5 stars because the 4K transfer could have been better. There is an overall uneven quality to the remaster in certain places. If you know the movie, up until Deckard uses the Esper machine the scenes are beautifully clean, moody, and fantastic. Case in point: Sean Young looks absolutely stunningly statuesque and beautiful in 4k and the street scenes look amazing. Once the Esper machine scene takes place, it's like the image starts looking flickery and grainy. And I mean to the point that it's distracting. Once he is done and goes to Animoid Row in the next scene, all the color, cleanliness, and depth comes back. Considering Ridley Scott supposedly oversaw this transfer (or so he says in the optional introduction on the disc) I can't understand if that scene was missed or they just said nah that looks good enough there. It's shame because the rest of the movie is great, and the sound has never been better. I would still recommend getting the disc if you are a super duper BR fan like me and/or you don't already have a 4k version regardless.

Don't hesitate, buy it!
As I needed another reason to cry, I bought this and watched it all the way to the end like I have endlessly with my older HD bluray disc. But, for some reason, the clarity, sharpness, high contrast of the city lights against Rutger's face somehow brought out my emotional side because it seemed so much more real.
