... Is keeping our cat from clawing our new box spring
This is an excellent product, even better than I was expecting. The zipper encompasses three of the four edges so that the "encasement" is extremely easy to put on -- and take off, should you want to. The zipper is also "tight," so much so that it's pretty much invisible once it's closed (preventing virtually anything, even very tiny things, from getting to your box spring). I bought this for the new box spring/foundation we've had, as I write, for barely two weeks. We bought the box spring and this encasement, along with a new mattress, for our home bed where bedbugs and other such creatures are not a problem. Instead, I got it in hopes that one of our cats -- who daily was using several corners of our previous nine-year-old box spring as a scratching post -- would stay away from this new box spring due to the VERY tight weave of this encasement. It's working. Roo was, from day 1, far less interested in it, and after systematically redirecting her away from it (she certainly knows what "NO!" means) she is now, instead, using the actual scratching post that's in the bedroom, as our other cats do. Roo is likely not very interested because she can't actually tear the encasement fabric or stick her claws into it in the (to her) same satisfying way she could into the previous box spring. If her claws were very sharp (we keep them trimmed) they might leave pin-point punctures the fabric (she's a small cat, with small claws), but this encasement's fabric is just not tearable. By extension, this encasement must certainly also work to keep out bedbugs, et al, as it's intended. Considering the unusual fabric and zipper, how well this is made, and how much good bedding materials cost these days, the price, I think, is also pretty reasonable.

Used on a 5" futon mattress - perfect fit but "poofs" with air
I got the low profile one (made for a box spring) to put on a 4.5-5" cotton futon mattress. I'm going to also put a colored cover on it, so it think it will work well. It went on very easily, and I did it myself. This version has a material that feels kind of like microfiber sheets but with a little stretch. It's a little noisy if I run my hand across it, but it's barely noticeable when sitting on it folded up. I would use another pad or cover if it was used as a daily sleeper. Can't speak to the durability, but it seems well made, especially for the price. Perfect for under a plain cotton, decorative cover. So.... It's been a few days. I've got the colored cover on it now. It's consistently "proofing" up with air, so that when I sit on it there is a big air bubble. It recedes slowly, but it's kind of annoying. I'd initially gave this cover 5 stars, but this is kind of a pain in the butt so I've dropped it to 4.

Very Good Quality
I installed this encasement on my box springs, along with the SafeRest mattress encasement, as a preventative measure and deterrent*, so I can't speak directly to how well these keep bed bugs in or out. What I can say is the quality is far superior to the original box spring encasement I purchased (no names, comes in orange packaging). That one was much more cheap and 'plastic-y' feeling and got brittle pretty quickly, which is a problem you don't want to have with an encasement. The SafeRest zipper is very tight and gave me no problems, and the Velcro closure at the end is a good added measure. I did take the measures of softening the metal edges of my bed frame with duct tape to prevent tears and duct taped the corners of the encasement to stop my cats from scratching it, my bed skirt covers that up. The quality seems very good, no tearing, flexible, soft and durable material. Opens on three sides to install, which I did no my own. I just cleaned my floors well, laid the encasement down and open, placed the box spring on top, flipped the top over and zipped it up. Don't try to put the encasement on with the box spring standing on edge or on end if you're doing it alone, it will be an exercise in futility. I work at a college and, because of the dorms, we've been educated about bed bugs. Because of this I might be a bit more cautious than many, but with bed bugs on the rise, I think these are a generally good idea --- especially in urban areas where your'e sharing cabs, trains and buses with the public. Anyone can bring them into a home, bed bugs don't care where you live or how much money you make. While the numbers are still on the human side (I believe something like 20% of households in the US either have had bed bugs or know someone first hand who has had bed bugs), once they're in your home the odds flip, so some forethought can be a good thing. *As with all encasements, you should know that these won't repel bed bugs, it will just prevent them from taking up residence in their favorite place, which is your bed and, most commonly, your box springs.

Sweet relief.
I discovered I had bed bugs after three months of bites that I thought were allergic hives. I spent hundreds of dollars on doctors and different prescriptions, and after waking up one day completely covered in new "hives," I lifted my mattress on a whim and saw two bed bugs. I have no idea where they came from or how they got there. Nightmare!! I immediately called an exterminator, and he suggested that I encase the mattress and boxspring of my bed, in addition to treating my apartment and meticulous washing and drying of all our clothes in hot water and thorough vacuuming. I spent alot of time researching the different styles of encasements, and decided to buy this brand, based on the reasonable price, but more because of the five-star rating these encasements received from other buyers. I bought encasements for my mattress and box spring, as well as the pillows. I moved my bed away from the wall, and slid Climb-Up traps under each leg of my bed frame. I also dusted all the baseboards, my nightstands, and my dressers with diatomaceous earth. I have a standard mattress and box spring, and these encasements fit almost perfectly (slightly roomy, but not gigantic). They were very easy to put on, and once the sheets went on, you couldn't detect them at all. (Side note, I love how they make my matresses look fresh and white!) They don't make any noise when you're sleeping, have no odor, and since I've encased my mattresses, I haven't been bitten. I admit that bed bugs have left me paranoid and scarred for life. I'm still a little psychotic about falling asleep at night, but I have no reason to be. These encasements truly do what they are supposed to do. I will never take them off, and I will put them on every mattress I ever buy in the future, as a prophylactic measure so that I never have to deal with bed bugs again. If you're in any situation that resembles mine, don't hesitate to choose this brand of mattress encasement. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect fit, Superb Quality, Excellent zipper system
If I could give a 10 rating I would. Made the purchase as one more thing I can do to fight the bed bugs. The material is almost silk like, very smooth, and is high-end quality. Zipper system never got stuck onto the material around the zipper, not once. Very impressed with how smooth the zipper closed/operated. Velcro covers the zipper at its final closed destination. I have a cal-king bed and the length(84"), width(36"), height(9"), of the box spring covers, was a perfect fit. I sleep better at night that I have the SafeRest Premium box spring encasement protecting me. My bedroom is secure from bedbugs so far. I assume the product was manufactured here in the Great USA, as there were no "Made in China" logos on product. Probably why the fit was perfect. The Bed Bug Battle, what has worked for me. All items were purchased on Amazon website. The SafeRest box spring covers, ClimbUp Insect Interceptor 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" x 5'box of 12, for under bedroom furniture feet, including bed, dresser, night stand etc, JT Eaton Kills BEDBUGS Powder around baseboard where carpet and baseboard meet. Also purchased the Euroflex Monster Steam-Jet-II 1200w floor steamer and use it on the carpets to fry them as the steamer gets to 200+ degrees. Vaccuum before and after the Monster. And of course keep everything up off the floor, and wash sheets regularly. Keep a set of clothes you wear for bed ONLY! Use other clothes for sitting in living room furniture where I also have bedbugs. So far all this is working. And take a shower every night before bed. The SafeRest Premium box spring encasement cover is a must, as bed bugs can hide easily out of sight. Good Luck if your fighting Bed Bugs and don't give up. Be consistent with vaccuuming also. It's a lot of work, time consuming, but when you see the results,no bites, its very satisfying.

So far, so good
I bought this cover for my mattress because I had discovered, to my horror, that we had bed bugs, probably acquired on a recent trip to New York. It is a well-made product that seems pretty secure and even though it's labeled for box springs, it's working just fine for my mattress (my bed doesn't have a box spring). It was very easy to put on since it unzips on three sides, though like another reviewer, I recommend getting rid of air pockets before closing it completely so that it doesn't pop open. In the week I've been using it, I've noticed fewer bed bugs and I'm confident that the ones trapped inside this mattress cover will stay there. I'm definitely sleeping more soundly now that I have this. This cover is an important part of a bed bug fighting strategy, but if you have bed bugs, be sure to check EVERYTHING in your bedroom. I've discovered that they especially like cardboard and wood, so check any wood around your bed, the backs of mirrors, frames and wall hangings, the back of your dresser and of course, all pillows, curtains, upholstered chairs and fabrics in the room as well. I've been spraying any that I see with rubbing alcohol (it makes them seize up and die, which is gratifying to watch if you're itchy and covered in bites) and regularly washing all fabrics in the room in a hot wash and then hot dry.

Great price, high quality
Great price, high quality, delivered fast. Allowed us to protect our box spring after steaming it, which gave us tremendous peace of mind with a bedbug scare in our building. The zipper goes all the way around the cover, which makes it MUCH easier to install than most, and the fabric is smooth and strong. Perfect fit for the lower profile box springs (the ones that come with extra-deep mattresses). Would definitely purchase from this seller again.

It is sturdy, it fits to perfection on the box spring ...
It is difficult to give such a product 5 stars when you consider its use. However, being unlucky, I have had to use similar products in the past, purchased directly from a large box discount store. For a very similar price, the SafeRest product is of much greater quality. It is sturdy, it fits to perfection on the box spring and it locks it up the way it is supposed to. I will not go back to the big box store for such products in the future (although hoping not to need them).

Perfect for me!
Firstly as a person who sleeps "Hot", I truly appreciate the Terry Cloth on the top side as I have had it on the mattress for a week and my sleep has not been affected. Secondly it fits like a glove on my 18" mattress, unlike other brands I have tried.

A good product
Since I have a thin Ikea 6" tick mattress I wanted to give it a try. I fitted the mattress perfectly. The quality of the material is good and the zipper works great. The seller followed by by email after the purchase to see if the product is working out for us.
