Well I am using it
So I got this actually to replace a broken one on my camper door. However it is to small for that I need a bigger and longer one. But it so happened I had made a cabinet with a lean out door and these work well for that. So I was able to keep and use any way. I like that it is a slow release too and now my door doesnt slam. That is a win for me.

Product is good. Instructions are garbage
Product works as advertised. However the installion instructions are garbage. And the video explanation in the packaging we code doesn't work either. They tell you to install the hardware on the inside of the cabinet first and then to stretch it out and place it on the door. This did not work for me no matter how many different configurations I tried. What did work is measuring 3 1/2 inches on the door hardware first and screwing that in. Then stretching out the piston and screwing it into the interior of the cabinet when fully extended. Overall happy with the product but not the headaches of installation.

22 lbs is unrealistice.
My door weighs in at 16 lbs, these would not hold it closed or let it down slowly. They may be fine for 10 lbs but no more

Does the job!
I am building a floating TV entertainment center, with 15' x 30" solid Oak doors opening downward. I needed to prevent the doors from accidentally slamming open and at the same time prevent them from over-extending. These gas spring hinges are perfect for the job, The installation was a breeze once I had measured out where the top and bottom hinges needed to be placed. Note, standard door hinges are required as well. The description of the product can be misleading. I prefer 'gas struts'.... but what's in a name? They get my thumbs up.

instruction simple in mm only - work great (downswing slow open)
The istructions schematic is only in mm - could be more thorough/ My first door I misdrilled because I measured from door edge exactly as instructed but I failed to consider that was meant to be the inside edge of the cabinet. It was best to just ignore that and line up the piston straight after I installed it in cabinet and then mark the door. Works great! Altough I find it keeps the door from wildy swinging open (downward swinging hinge) - I have to push it closed since it stops 2 inches short.

At best will not last a day...
Unless your drop down door is paper thin, less than 11 inches high, and almost weightless - this may last a day. The design and suggested placement will not work for any drop down door. If anyone would really think about it... height of hinge attached to the opening is at 10 inches and hinge holding the door is almost 3 inches away from the opening - the weight of the door will never ever be supported by this hinge. The photos are deceivingly clever - making you think that the part holding the door is about half-way or more. NOT THE CASE. If you must (and there are a few) and purchase this item, purchase a plastic dowel insert if installing the hinge on an MDF board or particle/compressed wood door/cabinet. BUT... I am not recommending this item.

Should have asked more questions .i needed most resistance as it was closing ,but it works the other way

Nicely made and work smoothly. I used them to slow down the opening of a loft hatch - I probably should have gone for the 200N model but these do work.

Completely useless for a large, downward opening attic hatch. Installed in line with measurements and angle.

Have not installed them yet, we are waiting for a pair of butler hinges. They look like they are made very well. Look forward to getting this project finished

Muy buena calidad y fácil instalación. Tuve que regresarlos porque quedaron chicos al mueble que quería arreglar. Pero los recomiendo mucho
