Great adapter
It worked great connecting my 480p handheld to my CRT TV and was compatible no problem. It was easy to use by plugging a hdmi mini to hdmi cable to it, and plugging rca into the other side while the adapter is being powered on the side. It can be used on mono sound only TVs by not plugging in the red cable.

Works great with a good cable
I really only want to point out one important thing, the quality of your RCA cable (R/W/Y) is important for this device to record properly. The first time I used it I connected the first RCA cable I found laying around. It was a really cheapo lightweight cable and the results were not so good. The video was dropping frames and I was considering returning it. As a last ditch effort I looked for a better quality cable and found one that is probably three times the thickness of the cheapo cable. Now the recordings are exceptional. Just a little FYI, I'm using it to record video from the HDMI output of a Roku Express to the RCA input of a device that is no longer available for purchase (at least what I can find). I record to a Phillips HDD (hard disk) and DVD player/recorder. This is the best $10 I've spent in quite some time.

Connect HDMI source to “Red, White, Yellow” Input
There was a time when cable television boxes came with multiple outputs: HDMI, audio/composite video (the old red, white and yellow connectors) and even some others (like component video or s-video). But no more. My cable company “upgraded” to the latest thing: a tiny box that is about the size of a cigarette pack that has one output: HDMI and nothing else (this is progress?!). So I am stuck with a DVD recorder that I can’t use because I have no way to plug it into the cable box. This tiny little gadget is the solution! I connected the cable box to this converter box with an HDMI cable and now I have the 3 rca style connectors (the red, white, and yellow) which is what my DVD recorder uses for input. So I can now use my DVD recorder again and record things to view later. To complete the hook up, I added an HDMI switch that will direct the signal either to the TV or to the converter box (to the DVD recorder). If you have older video components that don’t have HDMI inputs, you can use this box to get a good clear audio and composite video signal to feed your older devices.

I have an ancient Toshiba TV. I'm talking 28 years plus. My wife, who is also ancient, likes it, almost as much as she likes me, so she won't get rid of either. At the moment she sees more of it than she does of me due to gardening duties, and although we have freeview, was getting a little bored with the usual offerings. In the back room I have a Sony TV, a teenager by comparison, and as it has an HDMI socket I have a Fire Stick connected and consequently a much bigger field to hunt in when the fancy takes. Recently I have been getting the green eye from the other room because of the amount of content I have available. Although there is nothing to stop the boss from joining me, she has a favourite chair, and so would rather starve than feast. This is not good. So I looked at the possibility of combining modern technology with the old . Not by getting her a toy boy, but by playing what I had on her baggy old TV; and, courtesy of Amazon, came across this little device. Considering the technology it incorporates it's a snip. It took three minutes to connect and go from cave to rave. In addition you also need an RCA to RCA cable, that's the one with red, white and yellow male connectors, and a USB plug to attach to the provided USB cable. Pity they don't do it as a complete kit for a few extra shillings. Looks like I'm going to have to get another chair.

Excelente producto 👌🏻 10/10 me fué muy útil para utilizar el Amazon fire tv en un televisor con la entrada de HDMI dañado, utilicé el cable RCA para conectar al televisor y funcionó al 100
