Do you put in the freezer to make it cold?

I am due to go on a flight and need to know the volume of gel it contains to see if I am allowed to take it in my hand luggage?

It looks like it doesn't wrap around the whole part of the leg or knee just partially is that right ?

Without being rude it really depends on how big your leg is. I have chubby knees but it will wrap round to sides of knee and Velcro elastic will go right round. I find it does what I need on my knees and my back if I need to ice pack it opens out flat so good. I hope this helps.
