Talking Pet Essential Words - 6 Piece Set Pre-Recorded Speech Buttons for Dogs, Dog Buttons for Communication

We have a blue heeler (aussie cattle dog) who used bells on the door to tell us when he wanted to go outside, but he started using them to try to tell us other things so we got these buttons. He is a smart pup and picks up on things pretty easily. The instructions were helpful in teaching our dog how to use them. He does sometimes get confused, especially if the button get moved around, but we can tell he enjoys being able to tell us exactly what he wants. I docked a star for durability only because sometimes the button will get "stuck" and shout words out when no one is around, but overall we would buy more of these for our guy.

This is one of the best things I have ever bought in my life. I began teaching my puppy to use them at about 6 months old. He's now 15 months old and uses them all proficiently, sometimes when I wish he'd stop saying play or outside. He also tells me he wants to go for a walk, eat, and drink. The best moment was when my son and I were watching a tv show about a Santa who went to a children's hospital for Make a Wish because a little boy with cancer wanted to meet Santa. While Santa was talking with the boy, he passed away. My son and I both started bawling. Pup pup got up off the sofa, went over and hit the Love You button and came back to cuddle with us. We laughed and cried even harder. That moment was priceless because I knew he wasn't just saying Love You to get a treat. He could express empathy and compassion. Wow!

Of all the house dogs, 3 month old Labrador puppy quickly mastered her preferred sequence of "eat eat outside" for her al fresco snack on the porch. She also likes to pick up button "eat" & walk of with it. Sadly, she has no interest in any of the other buttons. The other dogs aren't as motivated (Corgi & Maremma) as they have their own routines but are curious. Time will tell but it is very interesting to try out. I'm the one who is being conditioned and dogs just humor me. One of the buttons noise level is barely a whisper so useless IMHO.

I ordered the Essential Word buttons for my new puppy. At first the buttons ALL worked out of the box. After 2 weeks the EAT button stopped working. I changed the batteries in hopes of that being the problem but it wasn't. I didn't want to return the buttons back to Amazon because my puppy was already using the buttons and I didn't want to delay his lessons. I reached out to Hunger for Words several times about a replacement for the one buttons but till today 7.13.26 I have yet to receive a response to my 5 or more emails for a new EAT button. BTW no phone number to speak with a live person. As far as the concept of your dog using these buttons is great. My puppy is using them with ease. Now reaching out to HfW that is the reason for the 3 stars only. SHAME on them for poor customer service.

I can't say enough good things about the Hunger For Words Talking Pet buttons, and training your dog to talk in general. These buttons work well and have good sound quality for the price. You can get the mats by the same company to securely position them on the floor for your dog. Pair them with a good book on button training for dogs and teach your dog to talk!

These really work! My puppy picked up how to use these buttons on day one. The training was so simple and effective. The batteries in the buttons have lasted a very long time, about 7 months and counting. They are very durable buttons. Our puppy is now 1 year old and about 60 lbs and they are still in good shape. If you’ve ever wanted to try training with buttons, give these a shot!

These are way too quiet and difficult to understand. Wish I would’ve gone with a better version.

Wirklich tolle Geschichte. Die Taste leckerli hat sie natürlich sofort verstanden. Bei allen andern muss man geduldig sein und Zeit investieren.
