DGL Licorice Root Tablets 400mg - Chewable- High Strength Liquorice Root

Great product very good value and fast delivery. The taste is nice and sweet if you like liquorice I would recommend them.

These do work and are not too unpleasant. Very good price and a good alternative to other antacids. One normally does the trick but on rare occasions two may be required. 😊

I got these for acid reflux. Taking before meals definitely minimisees symptoms, although I needed two tablets. The taste is not great, but if you like liquorice, it's bearable. The price is also good compared to similar products. I also tried some Holland and Barrett ones and the effect was similar, although I only needed one h & b tablet. The h & b ones actually tasted quite pleasant too, although were considerably more expensive. Both contained sweetners. Turns out what they remove in dgl liquorice is the chemical that makes liquorice sweet. So it makes sense why they add sweetners back. All in all these are effective and cheap. As long as you can put up with the flavour!

I don't like how these tablets deteriorate over time. I put them in a 7-day tablet container and, by the time I get to the seventh day, they have gone slightly brown in colour. The taste isn't really to my liking also - I prefer the Holland & Barrett equivalent.

The front of the bottle and the Amazon listing both say "400mg" and "High Strength," but if you check the nutrition information on the back, each tablet actually contains only 100mg of DGL extract. The 400mg refers to the equivalent amount of raw liquorice root before extraction, not the actual dose you're taking. it's 4 times less than other brands that sell 400mg tablets. This matters because for one tablet to help you with GERD symptoms, it has to be 10:1, or 400mg. I normally take one 400mg DGL tablet for digestive issues and get good results — I felt nothing from these, which is what prompted me to read the label more carefully. The sweetener used also made me a bit sick; it is very sugary. Also worth noting: the bottle I received looks completely different from the one shown in the listing photos. The listing shows a brown bottle with a blue label. What arrived was a clear bottle with a green and white label. It doesn't matter because they advertise the product to be more premium than it is. The tablets themselves seem fine as a product — they just aren't what's being advertised. Check the label before you buy.

I've had dgl tablets that work and taste a lot better.
