These are nice and sharp, easy on the hands and do the job well. Great trimmers for the price!

Sharp, Comfortable, and Ideal for Houseplant Pruning
Just got these pruning shears and immediately put them to work on my indoor jungle—fittonia, Calathea, peace lily, and a few others that needed a little cleanup. These are sturdy, lightweight, and surprisingly smooth for the price. The blades are stainless steel, and they cut cleanly through both thin stems and some thicker, woodier growth on my older plants. The ergonomic grip is comfortable in the hand, and the spring mechanism gives a satisfying rebound after each cut, which makes pruning sessions feel easier on the wrist. The safety latch is simple to use and keeps the shears closed when not in use—helpful if you’re storing them in a drawer like I do. I’ve had cheaper plastic-handled clippers before, and these feel like a real upgrade without the price tag of some high-end brands. If you’re a plant lover looking for a reliable pair of sharp, easy-to-use pruners for regular maintenance, I highly recommend these. Bonus: they look pretty sleek too. I’ve included a photo with mine.

Returned Due to Durability Issues
I initially had high hopes for the Amazon Basics 7-Inch Steel Bypass Pruning Shears, but unfortunately, they didn't hold up as expected. They worked well for a little while, but then the hinge became loose, rendering them ineffective. I decided to return them to Amazon, and I’m glad they provided a full refund. While the price was appealing, the lack of durability was disappointing. I would recommend looking for a more robust option if you need reliable pruning shears.

Works!
Since I go thru many clippers a year, these will do. They are cheap, cut well, but tend to self close. That works for me because I loose them pretty quickly!

Not made to Last, darn it! Just like Felco Clippers!! :-(
Bought these in July 2025. Almost immediately the 'lock' that holds the clippers 'shut'/blades closed...failed with EACH snip. It would lock the clippers with each and every cut and was most irritating. This week (Jan. 21, 2026), a little over 5 months after purchase, the spring popped and the clippers are virtually useless. I've never had this happen in 60 years of gardening;....but nowadays, nothing works or lasts like it used to...sadly. I'm not sure I can get a replacement 'spring' to try to repair these, but I will investigate. I'm not sure Felco red clippers are any better made these days, as I have lots of trouble with all 6 pair of these too. as they stick with each snip. Bummers!
