Great pump!
I bought my house in December 2020 had this pump and it worked tirelessly all that time. I did not have an owners manual with it so was unsure of the features. When the one I had quit working, I figured it was just time for a replacement, but this one and hooked it up once I read the owners manual found out. It has a thermal cut off switch for overheating as it turns out my old one isnโt really bad. The impeller needed to be cleaned. So Iโm gonna keep using the new one and keep the old one for a back up for when I have to service the new one and I will rotate them. Definitely a good quality worthwhile product for the money.

Powerful, tough pump
Very powerful and efficient pump. I had to replace my pathetic old pump/filter combo (endless clogging, no power) so decided to upgrade and go with a separate pump and filter system for my fish pond. I hoped to use this pump first to clear out the 8 years of much and sludge accumulated in my pond that made the water a dirty mess, and it worked perfectly. It can pump out pretty large pieces of detritus, and when larger stuff clogs the intake vents (and the flow slows), I found if I turn off the power, there is a brief back flow of water from the filter that pushes the clogs off the vents! Then I can start the pump again. I haven't had this long but am very impressed and happy with how it works. Also.......... The third day after I set the system up, I was away for several hours and came back to find the hose popped off on the filter and almost all the water was gone from the pond (2" left for the fish!). The pump was squealing like mad - it isn't supposed to run without water. I have no idea how long it was running without water, but after filling the pond quickly, I turned it back on, and..... it has been working perfectly for several days! This is a tough pump!!!

Bought one last summer. Performs as advertised all season. Removed for Winter.
Works as advertised. Much better than the old sump pumps we previously used. Had required no unclogging for weeks in a messy pond. Pumping rise is about 5-6 feet to waterfall. Good flow, no problems so far. Never clogged. I disassembled it in the fall of 2019. Didn't really need to, but I wanted to see what was in there. It was pretty clean. Once it got a small rock in the impeller. I cleared that jam and it worked again. Nice. 9/3/2021. The motor froze up, with water having gone through the shaft seal. It's done! I'll need a new pump. This one was trouble free while it was up and running, one jam up, easily cleared. It ran great for 3 seasons, rarely even shut it down. Decent pump for the money, but reading some other reviews, it seems that it's a gamble on how long the pump will last.

Very powerful, silent pump
So far so good. A pond service guy I called was recommending a whole new setup for my very dirty pond (abandoned for months by the previous owner). I guess his recommendation of an external pump and humongous new filter and all new piping made more "sense", but the $4k plus price tag scared me off. I ordered this pump and it started pumping out a very pleasing and fast stream right away. My pond still has too much algae but for that I'm going to try the filter from the same company next. And the pomp appears to be having no issues even though there is plenty of small debris in my pond. All in all, very pleased so far. And oh, it was a snap to install the necessary pipes, I just needed to go to Home Depot to get the correct sized pipes and flexible connectors. In another miracle, 3 koi out of the original 7-8 appeared to have survived the dirty water in the pond with a barely working pump, and no pump working for multiple months :-)

A high performance pump for ponds
I use this for a duck pond with a skippy filter. If you use it for this purpose, I recommend adding a pump pong filter bag around it to prevent the pump from getting fouled up. The pump would get easily clogged without a filter bag around it. The pump is pretty powerful and somewhat easy to clean. If you need to clean the pump rotor, a little disassembly is required (like 10 screws), nothing too bad.

Amazing!
We have a 1500 gallon pond that we've been just sort of winging it since we bought the house 4 years ago. The summers are hot in NC and the algea gets out of control. We also have a lot of trees dropping debri in the pond. We finally got in there and scooped a lot of the crap out which made the water very murky. We had a pump and filter combo from AquaSource that was so nasty to clean out. In the summertime we would have to clean it two or three times a week just to get the water to circulate through the pump. On a local Facebook group I asked what kind of pump I could use that would not get clogged up and everyone suggested the Tetra large debris pump with this the external tetra bio filter. The first couple days we were pretty disappointed that we didn't see much clarity. However, after 3 weeks the pond looks better than it's ever looked. We can actually see the pump and the bottom of the pond !! One thing to be mindful of is the attachment sizes of this unit are rather large (1 1/4 and 1 1/2). It's hard to find pond tubing that size locally And we also ended up having to buy a new waterfall box because our old waterfall box only had a 3/4 in max inlet. So if you end up going with this filter, I would definitely recommend buying your hosing and any other accessories you need online. We used the Tetra 2500 bio filter and so far it's been a great investment.

Pump does not work
Having waited for the product to arrive for quite some time, on the very first use the pump was not working. A qualified electrician checked the pump and the connection and determined the fault was with the product. I will be requesting a full refund!

Nice product so far so good after month usage
It works so good so far after one month no blockage compare to the other product, since we have a lot of tree around the pond , also good enough power output to let water has fast circulation through pressured filter , except if clean the product without screw drive that will be even better, no complaints for this good product

working very well
I purchased this unit to replace a 10 year old pond pump. The was a very small price difference between this and a lower hp one so I went with this one. Very strong flow which is great.

Tetra Pond Debris-Handling Pump, 3690 GPH
This pump is working fantastic in my 1,000 gallon pond. And so easy to clean off any excess debris. Also working well with my Atlantic SP1600 waterfall and Oase Biosmart 5000 filter.
