Ambient Weather WH31P Water Proof Thermometer Probe Sensor

Easy to setup and sync to my WS5000 receiver, instructions are concise and easy to follow. Use to measure pool water temp. Set dip switch to required units and channel number, insert batteries and the receiver immediately registered it's readout.

Works brilliantly in the pool - so helpful to know the water temperature without having to go to the pool to check! BUT!! Take it out of the pool while the cleaning robot is working… it will chew up the sensor lead!! I have lost 2 that way!

Bought this sensor to monitor our pool water temperature. I placed it on an inside face of a corner support in our Arizona Room. I bored a small hole through the support to accommodate the wire/transducer. On the outside face I installed PVC pipe and fittings routed to the pool approx. 3' below the water surface, offering greater protection for the wire/transducer assembly. Water temp. is now readily available at a glance. No more placing my solar temp sensor into the pool, turning it on, waiting for the sensor to run through 2 cycles making sure the sensor had stabilized and leveled out, then reading the temperature. It's freakin awesome!! Update! 4-10-22 (Checked Accuracy) Thought I would run an accuracy check, based on some past reviews of questionable accuracy for this temperature sensor. I placed my Super Clear solar temperature gauge in the pool, let it run through 2 complete cycles to assure the sensor had sufficient time to read the temperature and have the reading level out. The Super Clear reading was 74.8 F. keeping in mind the probe sticks in the water approx. 4", so for all practical purposes its measuring the temperature at the surface. I live in Arizona, full sun today beating down on the pool. The Ambient sensor reading was 74.1 F, so this comparison shows a difference of almost 1 degree. However the Ambient transducer is located approx. 3' under the surface. So it would make sense that the reading taken deeper would register a slightly cooler temperature. The readings were taken at the same time of day about 2 minutes apart from each other. Based on this little experiment, I'm completely satisfied with this products performance!!

I bought this to use in my sauna. I already have the ambient weather station and a second temp probe. It hooks up fine and works but what is missing in specs is that it only goes up to 140F (60C) so not suitable for a sauna. I will find another use for it.

I bought this to add to my Ambient Weather station for monitoring the pool temp. It was simple to pair with the station. Now I can see the pool temp at poolside or on my phone. Update 6/29/24: thermometer stopped working after less than 1 year. It only reads 58° regardless of the actual temp
