River 2 Sea Wpl 90 Whopper Plopper

This lure is everything you need for fishing. It is great for top water fishing for both large and smallmouth bass. I was surprised the Northern Pike and Muskies were also so attracted to the spinning motion and life like movement. Worked very well and very successful.

These things work and top water fishing is sooo fun! I’ve had the best luck with Smallmouth in rivers. Haven’t targeted largemouth much yet, but I will soon.The trick to using this lure is to keep your rod tip up high after a long cast because you want all your line out of the water to get the best “plopping” sound. Then as you reel your line in, bring your rod tip down. Basically you want to reel it in with the most noise and without having to reel too fast. You’ll get the hang of it after just a few casts.I’ve had smallmouth hit this as soon as it hits the water. Like throwing a frog for largemouth.I purchased the bluegill, shad, and loon. All catch fish, however I’m partial to the bluegill at the moment.Hooks are super sharp too!!!Only negative is there isn’t a way to make it weedless. If you get any weeds on it, it doesn’t work properly.

Great action on top. Makes a lot of noise. Gets strikes! Reccommend using a swivel as lure produces line twist leading to backlashes. Rear treble hangs on prop occasionally.

I had always heard that the Whopper Plopper was one of the most effective lures for bass fishing. So, I decided to try it out, though it seemed a little expensive. In found that in the right circumstances and season (where they are hitting top water), the Whopper Plopper lure really works. It is much better than various top water frog lures.I deal with bass fishing in a local creek and have used every kind of lure you could imagine. The bass in this creek are are cautious and not very excitable. The Whopper Plopper is one of the few lures I've used that will actually excite the bass and entice them to strike in the moment. It will also attract them from further distances with all the noise and wake. With my very first cast with it, I reeled in a decent size bass, just like that. The only down side is that I've noticed it does a little more damage to the fish than I'd prefer (I catch and release). The dual treble hooks are razor sharp and sometimes I find one hook in the mouth and one embedded in the body of the fish from thrashing, etc. Overall a great addition to your tackle box and I would recommend that all bass fishermen have at least one of these. It's now my go-to lure for top water situations.

Good action. Gets the fish moving. No complaints. We'll just 1. Got a big fish and it snapped my line 3 minutes into the fight. Not sure who the lover is. The fish with my lure stuck in its mouth or me losing the lure to that fish.ENJOY!

Absolutely love these things, cannot recommend them enough. They leave a great trail of bubbles for fish to hone in on. I can't stop recommending them to my friends that fish. A feature that I like is that the tail is made of a hard durable rubber (almost plastic like but definitely rubber) that makes this lure bombproof.

Great product. Heard much hype surrounding it. It definitely makes a nice splashing and gurgling as advertised. Had a few exciting top water bites. The weight of this “90” size is easy to cast a good distance. With the cast and retrieve of method of working this bait you can cover a lot of water quickly.Unfortunately I lost mine due to a bad cast which caused a backlash from my baitcaster and snapped the line. I watched sadly as my whopper proper floated away. I’ll be ordering another one again!
