I thought I had found an inexpensive and beautiful solution to my cracking nails. I recently tried semi gel nail strips, and overall, I’m really impressed with the results. The application process was quick and straightforward—no messy polish or long drying times. The strips adhered well to my natural nails, and the flexible gel layer gave them a smooth, salon-quality finish.One of the things I loved most was the durability. They lasted over a week without chipping, even through daily tasks like typing, washing dishes, and light cleaning. Removing them was easy and didn’t damage my nails, which is a huge plus compared to traditional gel manicures.The shine and color payoff were beautiful, and they looked like I just stepped out of a nail salon. Super cute, convenient, and budget friendly. There are about two uses in each pack. The nails do tend to pop off over time or chip if you use your hands a lot, but you can delay this by using a clear top coat after curing them. I do find that if they have been on for a little while and I run my fingers through my hair, it will make its way under the nails (regardless of top coat).

Exactly what it says: these are semi-set gel polish nail sized sheets that you stick on, trim and cure with UV light. I usually get gel nails at the salon but my nails are starting to suffer so I’m trying alternatives. These are a quick and mostly easy way to get a salon look at home. A few issues I found: the strips are in assorted sizes but my nails run wider so I may have to try next width up as you can see a bit of a gap on the sides. The pictures are from my second installation. The first popped off faster than I expected. I think I did not clean the surface of my nails as well as I should have. I also saw a trick on YT to use a handheld UV light with a soft silicone “stamper” head to press and mold these better. Seems to have helped. First time I trimmed first then cured. This time I just cut off excess length first then cured and trimmed when they were set. That helped me shape them better. UV cures quickly. And these are smooth without a top coat but I’ll add one next time to seal edges better. All in all, I’m happier with these than when I tried going back to standard liquid polish. That was a mess, and exactly why I’d rather go to a salon.Bottom line: give these a try! They don’t need to be filed off like salon gels but don’t last as long either. The quality is good and a great selection of colors and designs. I’m getting better at applying and hope to give more colors a try. Enjoy!
