Don't buy.
Another edit: Soon after I posted the edit for some reason there was another post that said it worked perfectly for them and gave it a 5 star review. Which I find extremely suspicious. The reason being that there was another post that gave it a 1 star(its gone now) and not soon after that there was someone that said that it worked great out of the box. Now they did it to me. So yeah don't trust them or buy this especially with them manipulating the rating of their product. I could be wrong but I really doubt it with a product like this. Waste of 200-300$. I need to keep using it but I will have to look into a replacement option soon. Also it keeps messing up on me and it just keeps getting worse even just scrolling on the internet is messing with it. I wish I could just return it but they took a literal month to ship it to me(the whole return window). If I do get a refund or replacement I will update this post saying so but I really doubt I will get either. I'm deleting my original post. I don't want to give any credit where it is not earned. Edit: They were great when they worked. They now frequently flash weird lines like the graphics card is messing up(its not). I am also having a problem where it keeps going to a black screen every few minuets. It happens when I am gaming or even just watching a video it just flashes to a black screen for a few seconds then goes back the content then a few minuets later it will do it again. At first I thought it was the heat messing with something so I bought a fan for each extender part but that did not fix it. I will have to look into other aspects to figure out if its something that is happening on my end but I'm pretty sure its not. I am afraid when I really need them they will just black screen. Like when I am taking an exam for school or playing games(I died a lot of times because of it already). I am going to have to look into another solution. I would rather take reliability over looks when it comes to things like this. I thought this was reliable and cheap but I guess I was wrong. Its only cheap.

easy to set up, no video degradation over long runs
DP cables in longer lengths are hard to come by and the longer you go, the more problematic the endeavor in terms of lagginess, pixelation, reliability. I have a set up where the PC is 50' away from the work area where the monitor, keyboard, and mouse are. Due to new hardware requirements for my practice management software, I had to upgrade to a new PC that only has DP output, no HDMI. This is the best solution I can find for my situation for the following reasons: 1. running cat5/6/7 is easier & cheaper over long distances. DP cables tend to be thicker, heavier, and more expensive beyond 10'. 2. You only have to run 1 cable between the workstation & the PC rather than 2-5 separate cables to feed your various devices at the work area (monitor, keyboard, mouse, USB hub, audio, etc). Easier to hide 1 cable rather than a bundle of 4-5 cables along the run. 3. You only need 1 electrical outlet to supply power to both transmitter & receiver. 4. No noticeable lag or signal degradation on monitor

Works out of the box. No issues.
Does what it is supposed to do. No hassles (even when using Cat-5 cable).
