You need to run a little bit of butane through it, but this is a great torch. Very well-made (metal), with a nice weight to it. Recommended.

Nicest lighter for the money. Seems extremely durable. Failed to work once (and I thought it was defective). Turns out lighter does NOT like to be left on it's side (overnight). Sat it upright for a while, and it works every time. One other flaw: too easy to turn the lighter off without realizing it while handling. I got used to that the first day. No problem for me now. I love this lighter and may buy another to keep at my office.

OMG yes, finally a desktop lighter that can go from a full SR-71 jet torch flame, down to and maintain a tiny candle flicker. It's difficult to find a good quality jet-flame lighter with precise throttle control. Now add a precise fuel/air mixture control, and wow, this bad boy is amazing. On top of all that, it looks gorgeous and cost me less than $25. I've paid 5X as much for other lighters which had half the features and build quality. So, if you need a lighter that can produce a jet-flame strong enough to burn that tight moist bud while the fan or a/c is blowing, BUT you also need a soft, delicate flame for semi-dry finely ground herb when no wind around... THIS IS THE LIGHTER YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. (p.s. I never write reviews. This one deserved an exception.)

Nice torch. Like the 2 modes on it. Can spark yo what I need to then switch it to lighter mode and the ole lady lights her candles with it

The only directions included with this are generic and don't apply to this specific lighter. The flame adjustment slide on the side seems to move by itself, it's down all the way every time I pick it up. It's quirky to refill, does not like being refilled when it's almost full. Has the most splash when filling I have ever seen, could empty your butane canister in a couple seconds. There is a brown knob on the back, no idea what it does. Does not seem to have as large a butane capacity as its size implies.

Not as good as it looks

I bought this torch when I received a very poor quality one in a bourbon smoking kit. This torch was very high quality and much easier to use and sturdily built.
