This is a great little machine
Update 2: Received the new unit and have used it and so far it's working great. The newer version also has a battery inside which I appears to hold the charge well and work through several shots (haven't had to recharge it yet). I haven't had any issues with this unit so am happy to give this back 5 stars. Only potential issue that I could think of is if the battery does not hold it's charge after a lot of us that it may cause issues as the unit does not appear to work while plugged in, the battery must have some charge. Update: After a few uses the machine no longer worked. Customer support was very quick to diagnose that it seems to be a faulty unit and processed a refund for me. The product hasn't been back in stock yet so I haven't had a chance to test if this was just a faulty unit or it is a sign of the manufacturing quality. This is a great little machine. I was trying to buy a espresso maker for my wife and didn't want to spend an arm and leg on it and this fit the bill. I researched a ton of other products and similar machines but this had came recommended to me from a few people who drink a lot of espresso. Overall the machine works pretty flawlessly and is easy to clean. You can quickly take it apart and just rinse out the parts. The espresso itself is very good and even has a nice creama on it. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice entry level machine that is easy to work and doesn't require you to manually try to pump it at a consistent pace!

made excellent espresso for about 3 months and then died :(
I would have given this 4 or 5 stars but it stopped working after about 3 months and maybe 50 cups. Friday it started to randomly turn on and today it will not turn on at all even after being fully charged. When it worked, it did make excellent espresso sometimes, but it was also inconsistent. I'd estimate 70% of the cups it made were excellent/very good, and the rest were somewhat watered down, but it's possible that was due to grind/pack inconsistencies on my part (although I don't have that issue with my espresso machine at home). When fully charged I was getting over a week's worth of use out of it, so from that perspective, it was good. I used it exclusively at work in my office, so I was the only one using it. I'm following up with Kohi regarding the 1 -year warranty, but you have to register within 3 weeks of purchase which I neglected to do, so I'm expecting them to reject my claim on those grounds. 6/26/18 Follow-up: I removed the 4 screws and took the device apart in an attempt to fix it as I never heard back from the manufacturer and found about an ounce of water had gotten into the main compartment of the unit that has the battery, compressor and main power/circuit board. The circuit board was clearly damaged by the water intrusion and had shorted out some of the LED traces on the board. I was surprised to discover the unit didn't have an internal gasket in the main chamber to help make it waterproof. In my opinion that is a serious design flaw as the only thing keeping water from getting inside the unit is the exposed orange gasket. Clearly, that isn't enough to protect against water intrusion based on all the other reviews I'm seeing related to the same issue I had. Please fix this issue Kohi! 7/12/18 Follow-up: I received an email from Kohi on 6/28 and they are going to refund my purchase. Apparently they're aware of the water intrusion issue and are working to fix it. Although it took a while for them to get back to me, I appreciate the response and the refund. I'm giving them another star for that. I will purchase the next model of this product after they fix the issue.

Makes an OK cup o' espresso. BUT It requires you to bring hot water in a thermos AND an external battery to power it AND grounds separately AND lots of parts to clean after AND have to lay out to dry before packed away. I'll stick with my cold brew or Turkish coffee. EDIT: After about 3 weeks of use (20 ish times) the button wouldn't work. Wasn't a battery issue (tried 4 separate ones). Just plain old died on me. Live and learn. Don't complicate coffee.

To espresso or not to espresso that... and the instructions (weak on consistency and content) are my questions...
I have been waiting for this item to come in stock long enough to order it (with an extended warranty). When the item arrived, I unpackaged it and was surprised to see that the included instructions show that the item has a plug-in charger, but there is no charger in the box. I understand that many manufacturers assume we have extra chargers, however the picture of what is in the manual is a misleading. Second, the manual states to add boiling water to start the unit. However, the video they show online is steaming water from a hot/cold travel mug that does not represent that properties of boiling water or the person holding the mug would be burning their hands. Is it steaming hot water or is it boiling water? When you read the instructions it discusses nothing about the VERY dim blue lights in front of the unit and how long it takes to charge for first use. Can you use it with the partial charge it came with? Do you wait for a full charge? If so, in the instructions it does not say how long that takes. In addition, the video shows the user "tamping" the ground coffee, the manual makes no mention of it--so again, what do you do. Lastly, the video and description which can be altered by the seller at any time says 16-bars of pressure however the manual says nothing of this. What am I expected to believe as the consumer? I am not sure what to expect. There appears to be no mention of descaling, maintenance of keeping the seal from drying out, replacing the seal if needed and/or what parts are expected to be oiled with use.

Easy to use and works well
I have used my Pressopump a few times now both at home and at work, plugged into a wall with the USB adapter and plugged directly into a laptop using the USB. I usually fill the water to the max line which makes a longer shot, and although itโs not the strongest espresso, it is strong enough and tastes great, also makes good crema. Itโs easy to make an americano, just heat up the amount of water for the size you want to drink, pour enough into the water reservoir at the top and leave the rest of the hot water in your cup, then pull the shot directly into that hot water. Overall Iโm impressed with the Pressopump, and it seems reliable though Iโve only used it a handful of times so far. My suggested improvements would be 1) make future versions use a micro usb or usb-c port on the pump itself so that you donโt have to always remember to pack their special usb power cord, 2) make it work with both grounds OR Nespresso pods in the same unit (I suggested this to the seller and they informed me that they have an adapter for using the pods that should be available soon), 3) build in some amount of battery life, even a small amount, so that if youโre really in a bind/out in the woods you donโt have to bring along a usb power bank to make a shot or two, 4) add a built in heating element so you donโt have to have separate means for getting hot water (I know this is a little ridiculous of a request for such a small, portable product, but would be a great feature).

Perfect solution for low counter space yet wanting espresso for yourself.
For my normal drink, I hit the Keurig for a cup as I'm normally in a rush. But I still wanted a Latte or a shot of Espresso so I started looking at options. A cheap and small Espresso machine was tempting, even if I would need to make room on the crowded kitchen top. A Nespresso would have been a wonder, but I honestly didn't want to pay for the pricey pods along side the pricey k-cups. Then I noticed the Travel/Manual brewers and looked into those, as I already have a kettle. Items I need to make use of this? Those include one small unused USB power bank, a coffee bean mill, a simple electric kettle, and then of course the coffee beans. End result, this fit my wants perfectly. This makes one shot of espresso pretty easily, two shots with a bit of effort, but more then that is admittedly a hassle. You won't be serving multiple guests espresso with this all at once, nor will you do something insane like make a travel mug full of espresso in short order. It does however make myself a shot or two of espresso to either drink or make a Latte with. A nice amount of crema is made with the shot of espresso, and I don't have to run a pump manually (carpal tunnel sometimes acts up).

Not bad but not good
Have used it for a few weeks now and had a lot of issues with water leakage and on the inside where the screws are one of the rubber seals was missing. I sent an email to the "family owned" company and asked if the screw would rust and if there was a pack of replacement seals I could purchase and never got a response back. I figured I had nothing to loose so I took it apart and found that the o'rings on the pump mechanism were not set right so I tightened everything up and the leaking problem stopped. I couldn't get a good shot with my Illy espresso grind so I had to use a bit coarser grind and that seemed to help. I also got some beefier silicon o'rings to place between the basket and filter and that helped a lot as well. After a few tweaks and upgrades it has turned into a good little travel unit. Quick update; I'm glad to see that the company reads and responds to reviews. Apparently they did respond to my email, my spam folder automatically purges itself and its possible their reply was sent to my spam folder. That being said they sent me a copy of their reply and they did try to fix the issue with the missing silicone plug and assure me the screw would not rust...so thanks for that. To clarify, I am happy with my purchase but considering that I had to upgrade my o'rings and tighten down a few things myself, the 3 stars still stand. I'm definitely going to follow this company and see what new hardware they produce. Hopefully there will be a few version upgrades to existing products as well.

Everything I Hoped For!
This is everything I hoped it would be! I always research and look at ratings before purchasing on amazon and this seemed to be the best option for my needs. I just got it yesterday and I have made about 5 shots of espresso already. Im going to be using it at home, at work, when I go camping, and maybe I'll take it hiking with me! All you need is this, some hot water, and a small battery pack (or an outlet). I'm going to end up saving money by not having to go to coffee shops all the time! Edit 12/28/17 (about 2 months later) This pressopump is still working great after a couple months of use. I even purchased 2 more as Christmas presents. I would like to add that this company has the best customer service that I have ever experienced. I had a minor issue and emailed them and they emailed back right away to take care of it. If you're on the fence about this vs. other options I would suggest going with the pressopump. It is an amazing product by a wonderful company. Some questions I've seen from people: How big is the battery? This doesn't have a battery it must be plugged in to function however it is usb powered so all you really need is a tiny usb battery pack and you can make espresso for days! Does it come with a car plug? No, it comes with a USB cord and a wall plug but I have a USB plug in my car at all times anyways and it works great with that . (Yes I have made espresso in my car on multiple occasions) Hi many shots does it make? One at a time. To make another you just rinse out the parts and dry them off. It does comes with two cups. Is it easy to clean? I would say yes! Everything comes apart so you can clean every part easily (no gross old coffee gunk stuck down inside after months of use). It also goes back together really easily there are videos on YouTube showing how simple it is. Does it heat the water? No you need to put hot water in it. I've found you can put hot water in a thermos and then make espresso later in the day wherever you are.

Best portable Espresso Maker ?
This is my first order of product made by KOHI+, never owned anything from them or even heard about KOHI+. Stumbled on this espresso maker on amazon decided to pull the plug and order it. Item arrived fast enough but had problem with packaging and I was kinda worried will those guys even respond to my email. Well, this is the first time that I have such a wonderful support. They provided solution to all of my concerns and problems. They were kind and solve my problems very fast! What can I say about KOHI+ - great company with absolutely great support! You can buy with confidence from them! If you have a problem with a product, their support is amazing and they actually care for their customers! Well back to the espresso maker - actually it works and does it better than I expected! Of course you have to balance the grind size, temperature of the water and light tamping to get the maximum possible extraction from the device. You need to preheat the device with first cycle before actual shot of espresso and the resulting shot will be little on the watery side but hey - this is very portable device and the espresso that can be made with it is on a par (or even better according to my wife) of fully automatic machines like Philips Saeco, DeLonghi Prima Donna and etc. The result can really surprise you! Well it took me few extractions to get the shot right so keep in mind the learning curve! If you expect to get better shot from this maker then Slayer Espresso, Rocket Espresso or Decent Espresso machines ... well it will not gonna happen. Those machines cannot be taken with you in your backpack and be useful in your tent, car, hotel room, at least not so easy like this one. The KOHI+ product is a great solution for travelers tired from bad coffee on the road! Its a must have for a espresso lovers! In the next version of the device I really would like to see preheating of the water done by the machine with ability to choose the temperature :-). Good compact travel case will be great too. Keep the good work KOHI+ !

Good, but really tighten that water tank!
I bought it specifically to use on holiday, but gave it a couple of trial runs. Firstly,I purchased and fitted the Nespresso adaptor, as I don't want to carry around beans and a grinder, or ground coffee. The first run saw a substantial leakage of very hot water from the reservoir, when inverting the Pressopump, after filling it with 70ml of boiling water. The second run was uneventful, and I enjoyed a very good latte. The instructions tell you to close the water reservoir very tightly, and they mean very tightly indeed; merely tight isn't enough!

UPDATE - Died before second use, after <3 weeks
UPDATE 02/04/2018 - I have just taken the PressoPump out to charge it prior to my second trip with the device and it's broken. No signs of life after a long charge. Very disappointing. My initial 4* review: This device produces surprisingly good coffee and is a nice, simple device to use. I have only used it with the Nespresso capsule adapter, but it works as expected and produces a nice cup of espresso. I use biodegradable capsules and it works well with them. If the charger was a micro-USB cable then this review would be five stars. It's designed for travelling... why not reduce the number of cables required? It would be ideal if this could charge via either micro USB or USB-C, that way I could use my phone charger cable.

PRESSOPUMP STOP WORKING AFTER SIX MONTHS
Although at the beginning I was satisfied with this product, nice design and good quality coffee maker, finally the machine wasn't working anymore. Four moths after the purchase the moor pump of the machine start to fail time to time; In spite that you could here the noise of the pump, this seem not to have pressure enough to get the coffee, and after several tries you could get it. But just 3 days ago even the motor doesn't work and it isn't even possible to charge again. I already contact with seller KOHI+ (through Amazon) in order to get a repair or replace of the product according with the product guarantee. I'll keep you posted.

A great Esspresso pump with great service
I've had/have various portable esspresso makers (Aeropress, Staresso etc) and this one ranks with the Staresso. The good: Battery lasts ages. Very easy to use. Esspresso tastes great and I don't get the acids of a press style coffee so my stomach is happy. The flip side is: A little noisy... but honestly if you want an electric pumped maker then... suck it up! The filter could be a little finer - there is a little more sediment than I would like - but I will try different grinds. Certainly the Staresso filters a little better and gets a slightly better foam. For camping, working away from home... its brilliant. At home I still use the Delonghi most of the time. The Aeropress, which is brilliant... gathers dust. In the interest of openness - I bought two of these. The first worked fine but had a rough edge on the filter and I caught my finger on it. So I requrested a return and ordered a second because I really like it. Presso were all over it and wanted photos and to know the details so they could get it resolved even before they got the return - they refunded the original without a question - and then refunded the second one in good will. This might be because it is new and they do not want bad press. Hopefully they will maintain this level of service. So a great pump with great service. Hopefully they have nailed the QC issue too by now.
