Good Gaming Headset, Bad Mic Quality
Ok, first off, I would like to say that this is an absolutely amazing headset sound wise. The virtual surround sound couldn't be more accurate, and music sounds great to me in it. But, I will go into more detail later on. I would like to just state up front now though, that if you need to use the microphone on this headset for anything outside of voice chat in games or skype with your friends, look elsewhere, or consider buying a standalone mic. The mic on this headset is understandable, but the quality is terrible, and it will randomly cut your voice off mid sentence due to badly designed background noise removal that you can't turn off. But, on with my review of this headset. I decided to upgrade from my aging Turtle Beach x32's (Yes, I know that headset is made for the Xbox, but they sell a pc adapter cable, and it worked great for me.) and decided to go with surround sound this time. I bought this headset mostly because it is the only blue headset I have ever seen, and it matches my all blue pc build. Surround Sound Quality: 5/5 I have tried out Titanfall, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts, and I do definitely feel like I have an advantage over other players. Think of it this way, you are sitting in a small room with two doors. With a stereo headset, you can hear footsteps, and you know somebody is coming, but you don't know which door they will walk through and have a higher chance of dying. With this headset however, in that same situation, you know which direction the footsteps are coming from, and you have a much higher chance of not dying due to that extra bit of knowledge you wouldn't get with a regular headset. The surround quality in this headset is better than my 5.1 surround sound setup in our media room, so this definitely earns a 5/5 in this category. Sound Quality: 4/5 I am rating the overall sound quality of this headset a 4/5 for one reason. The virtual surround sound in this headset tries to make all sounds "Surround" your head, and in doing so, it makes anything that isn't a game, or music seem like it's being played in a big stone room with all the sound echoing off of the virtual walls the headset seems to create. You do get used to this effect quickly, and I now kind of like the effect, it makes things seem a bit more real I guess, but I'm just throwing this out there for anybody who might care to know about that. One last thing for this category, I have seen too many people online complaining about the headset glitching out whenever you have something that is surround sound and something in stereo playing at the same time. (it will rapidly swap between stereo and surround sound and produce a lot of static.) I have found a way to fix this. (This is for windows vista and 7.) You simply open your control panel in windows, go to Hardware and Sound, click on the button that says manage audio devices, and in the playback tab, find something labeled with Logitech G430 Gaming Headset, click on it, and then click properties. It should open up a new window, with the tabs General, Levels, Enhancements and Advanced. Go to Enhancements and find the one in the list labeled "Speaker Fill" check the box next to it and click apply. Basically, what that did was tell your computer to turn all stereo sound into surround sound, and that prevents the scenario where the headset could glitch out. Mic Quality: 2/5 I am giving this a 2/5 for the reasons I told you about above, the mic is understandable, but does not have good quality. If you simply plan to use it for skype calling with your friends, maybe some in game chat, it will be absolutely fine for you then, but, since I'm a youtuber, I have much higher standards for my mic quality. If you plan to use the mic for business, recording yourself singing, recording videos for youtube, or anything where you need to sound good, consider buying a blue snowball mic, or something comparable to it. Final thoughts: So, this headset is overall a good headset for the price, good sound quality, good surround sound emulation, and ok mic quality. I personally have a Blue Snowball microphone, so the mic being not so great on the headset is no big deal for me, but it might be for other people. I hope that this review has helped you to see the ups and downs of this headset, and help you to decide if it's worth your money!

Amazing gaming headset
I spent multiple hours looking at the selection of headsets available on Amazon, and originally was going to pass on this one because of the reviews taking about how the microphone breaks easily or it's really quiet to other players, or how terrible the sound quality of it is. But after looking around, I did wind up getting this because of it's value, and the fact that I'm a Logitech fan. When it arrived I opened it right away to get gaming. It took a little bit of set up time, mainly a few minutes to download the LCore program from Logitech to play around with the settings of the headset, but within an hour I was ready to go. So the first thing I did was test out the simulated 7.1 surround sound feature. Changed up the audio settings on my game to playback in that format, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. You feel so much more immersed into the game with the surround sound versus just a stereo headset, and it worked just as well as any headset that has actual surround sound drivers in it. The sound quality is good, it's not as good as and professional grade set of studio headphones, but I wouldn't expect that out of a $70 gaming headset. For casual and even hardcore gamers, the sound quality is perfect for what it's intended for, playing video games. If you're planning on using them for listening to music, they work great for that too. Now onto what I had my worries with, the microphone. Ever since I've started using it, I've had no problems what so ever. I don't know why everyone else seems to be having issues with it. All of my friends can hear what I say fine, so it's not quiet. After recording myself and listen to the audio playback, it sounds as good as any microphone I've ever used, so I see no issues with it's recording quality. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now, and it's still working fine, so it doesn't break easy. Maybe I just got lucky with SuperMic, but I highly doubt it. The microphone is great and works exactly as it's supposed to. The headset is very comfortable as well. I wear it for multiple hours at a time as I'm a very serious gamer. The padding around the ears and on your head is really comfortable and so far has not caused my any pain even after playing for hours on end. The headset adjusts to big sizes too, I have a huge head that most other headphones squeeze down on at full extent and most hats will not fit on at all, and I can get this thing big enough to be loose on me, so there is no worries that this thing will be to small. My only complaint about this headset is the cord, which in my opinion is unnecessarily long. But then again, I'm playing with my laptop right in front of me. For those who are using it for console gaming, the extra length from your console to your chair is probably pretty nice. Overall this is an amazing gaming headset that I've had absolutely no issues with at all and would recommend to everyone :) TL;DR: Perfect headset with no issues, buy it.

Great headset, but one of the most important areas is extremely fragile
While I love this headset and use it almost everyday, these are extremely fragile. Pros: Extremely long cord. One of the things that I love about this headset is that the cord is 10 feet long. I have a monitor that is mounted to the wall, and this headset allows me to lay on my bed and watch movies or TV shows on that monitor while still having some slack in the cord. The cord itself is made of a nice braided material and will hold up to most pulls and tugs. Overall good sound quality. While these are no professional studio headphones, they do sound a lot better than other similar headphones out there. The base is not to heavy and the highs and mids don't sound out of place either. You can go into Logitech's software and change this if you wish to do so. The mic is also decent, but don't expect to be able to do any high level recording with it. Comfort. As someone who wears glasses, I always have the problem of smaller ear cups pushing against the ear pieces of my glasses, and that becomes uncomfortable after a while. But these have large ear pads that go over the ear instead of on the ear, and due to this, they don't push against the ear pieces of my glasses. The pads themselves are also large and soft, so wearing the headset for an extended period of time will not cause you discomfort. Cons: Extremely fragile. This headset is extremely fragile, especially around the small plastic area where the ear cups meet the rest of the headset. If this area gets even the slightest crack in it, the ear cup will fall out and render the headset unusable. With this, these headphones are not meant to be put in your bag and travel everywhere you go. These are instead meant to be placed on a rack or on your desk after use and not leave that place until they need to be used again. While the rest of the headset has a decent build quality, (the plastic is much thicker and wider), this one area does not match the build quality of the rest of the headset, and this area just happens to be one of the most important areas in holding them together. Conclusion: I bought this pair 6 months ago to replace the exact same headset that I had had for over two years. My first headset broke in the fragile area, which rendered them unusable, I bought another pair to replace them, but after six months of use, the same thing happened again. While I could recommend this headset to just about anyone, if you are looking for a pair that you can throw in your backpack and put some stress on, these are not the pair for you. But if they are going to stay at your desk and not move that much, then this a great pair to own.

I bought this headset in 2017, and only just now needed to replace it.
I bought this headset back in August of 2017, and used it almost daily for 4-9 hours at a time. The sound quality has always been as good as the day I bought it, and the mic quality is still fantastic. Midway through 2020 I had to replace the removable padding in the headset because it was starting to come apart; it was a little tricky for the part that rests on the top of my head, but it's held in place and done brilliantly. The reason I had to replace the coverings is because after 4ish years it started crumbling apart on the headphones. I did experience the same problem that a few other people did, in that above where the cups rotate, the flat panel cracked. However, it never harmed the audio quality, or the mic. When the cracks got bad enough, I just put a little tape over that section of the headset and never had another issue with it. It was only on the left-hand side that it cracked, and never the right. I think my partner laid it down a little too hard when he moved the headset, and that's probably what caused it to crack. This headset also survived my dog when he was a very mouthy puppy that constantly tried to each any and all cords in sight, but that could be attributed to the fact I kept a closer eye on him after he ate my mouse cord and another headset. Today is April 15 2021, and I am only just now ordering a new headset because the rotating part of the left cup of my headphones slipped out of the hole, causing the left cup to swing freely and kind of flop down, or turn 360 degrees instead of laying in place around my ear. I think the sound blocking qualities of this headset are fantastic, because when I first bought this headset I lived in a 2 bedroom house with 13 people, several pets, and train tracks directly across the street from the house. In the past 6 or so months, I believe my mic has lessened slightly in quality. But, I can't say for sure because I primarily use the microphone during online class sessions, and in discord calls. In both discord and online school calls, everyone has almost always had connection issues, or sound quality problems themselves, and issues like those are usually fixed by hanging up and rejoining the call. I probably should have replaced my headset as soon as it cracked, instead of taping it; however, the quality really was good enough that I didn't feel the need. Even now, after taping the left cup of the headphones back in place, it's working perfectly for now until I get a new headset. But, I'm a cheap college student, and this is just my experience.

i wanted to use the 7.1 feature , i bought three of these headphones one for me wife kid WE USE THESE FOR PC GAMING AT THE BOTTOM I EXPLAINED HOW TO BEST USE WITH PS4 AND EVEN AMPLIFY THE SOUND IN PS4 the usb is needed for the 7.1 feature and you need to use their Logitech software the software is garbage and the USB 7.1 feature while it works perfect it severely turns down the volume ( my wife can hear it and says its fine , but i like things very load and sound quality is important , to her she could care less as long as its not to loud and she can hear it ) i use these headphones for gaming on PC as does my wife and my son with theirs all three of us use these headphones without the USB dongle and without the garbage software just plugging it into a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the PC they sound awesome , loud and clear , i use realtec and windows 10 sound settings to crank the volume all the way up because at default they sound to low ( i tried to do this with the garbage software but it took over the sound settings wtf , maybe i did something wrong their but i doubt it because i have tried it many times and i have had these headphones for a year now ) the sound with realtec and windows 10 cranked all the way up sounds great and clear mic is clear i know this because me wife son play alotta co op and multiplayer together and all three of us have these same headsets my headset and my wife's headset are still in new condition a year later , my mic arm refuses to stay up and must always be down it was like that since day one , not a big deal just slightly annoying when i wish i could push my mic arm up my 13 year old sons headset huuuh OK my son goes thru headsets like crazy he does not take care of his stuff , i told him this is his last headset and he took great care of it till a friend came over and sat on them , i duct tapes them back together and made him go all year wearing them like that and he has took great care since of them , im about here in a week or so buy him another pair for the price i think these are great headsets , just don't expect to much outta the software or the USB dongle i think the software and the USB dongle are garbage FOR USING WITH PS4 i do think using the USB dongle on the ps4 is a good solution tho as that's what i used it for for a littler while on a tv that had its own headphone jack i used the USB dongle as the mic and worked perfect , now because the USB dongle sounds like garbage and turns the sound way down instead of using that for the headset i plugged the headphone part into the headphone jack of the tv and the mic part into the USB dongle , now turn the tv all the way up its so loud it will melt your brain and your mic is crystal clear - this will only work if you find a different headPHONE JACK for the hearing part of the headset - once again why do i do this ?? because the sound is to low on controller headphone jack and sound is to low on usb headphone jack , but the USB headphone jack works great as a mic source , now i can turn it as loud as i want so loud they can hear it in the next room as im wearing the headphones if i wanted to WITH THIS PS4 IDEA YOU CAN USE THIS USB DONGLE WITH ANY HEADSET TO GET EXTREMELY LOUD SOUND BUT YOU MUST HAVE A HEADPHONE JACK ON YIOUR TV OR YOUR TV HOOKED UP TO A SOUND SYSTEM WITH A HEADPHONE JACK I DO THIS BECOUSE I LIKE IT EXTREMELY LOUD WHEN I GAME

Incredible sound staging at a great price; versatile, comfortable, easy to use, with a great software application to manage it.
Incredible sound staging at a great price; these replace a pair of Turtle Beach Ear Force PX5 Programmable Wireless 7.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Headset with Bluetooth ... The Turtle Beach headphones are five times expensive and their sound staging isn't as good as the Logitech G430 headphones. My most recent system build utilized a Supermicro SYS-5038D-I SINGLE SOCKET H3 (LGA 1150) SUPPORTS INTEL XEON E3-1200 V3, 4TH GEN.CORE I3, PEN with an Intel Core i5 i5-4690K Quad-core (4 Core) 3.50 GHz Processor - Socket H3 LGA-1150Retail Pack BXF80646I54690K as well as an ASUS STRIX Radeon Fury 4 GB HMB 4096-bit DisplayPort HDMI 1.4a DVI-I Gaming Graphics Card These products represented an incredible value except the fact that this particular barebones server board didn't include a soundcard or an optical port, hence requiring USB headphones, I can play games on this system at 4k with a solid frame rate, but I can also do so with surround sound via these headphones and I have to say they sound incredible... I mean I haven't heard this kind of surround sound staging from any other product, the Turtle Beach headphones included, even my Logitech 5.1 THX surround speakers don't quite match these because the placement can't be perfect, speakers take up a lot of space, and the neighbors didn't like hearing ARMA III or XCOM 2 in the late hours of the night or the early hours of the morning, with this set of headphones I can have the Dolby 7.1 experience without upsetting the neighbors or the cats. I can hear the direction that enemies are approaching from, I can hear jets flying overhead, the bass response is as much as I'd want in a set of headphones, and the sound quality is great, the application that comes with the headphones allows precise calibration that I couldn't match with the Turtle Beach headphones, not to mention the fact that the Logitech Unit plugs in via USB for both the headphones and the microphone, so I didn't need to fuss with bluetooth, it was plug and play after I downloaded the latest version of the application. These headphones plug into the USB surround controller via standard audio jacks, so the headphones can be used with or without the USB surround controller, which is a great benefit, I haven't tried my Sennheiser HD 429 S Headphones for Smartphones and Tablets, Black through the USB controller yet but I am very curious to see how the surround controller would work with a third party headphone set, but the Logitech unit is great and was totally worth the money spent, considering I would have had to buy a sound card and a set of headphones or a set of speakers instead. Comfort? At first they felt a little uncomfortable, but once I'd used them a short while the pads on the headphones became more comfortable and I wear them for a pretty good amount of time, equal to the Sennheirser headphones and the Turtle Beach headphones in this regard. I haven't tried it on my Macbook Pro or my PS3 yet, but I will do so in the coming days and update my review. I highly recommend these though.

Not worth what they're asking now.
**EDIT** So I just noticed these things have went up to $115! I can't recommend them at that price. Its a great headset for $40, which is what I paid. You can get better for $115 tho. I was actually going to buy another pair, but there's no way I'd pay $100 for these things. $40-$50 is fair. For this reason alone I've dropped my rating from 4 stars to 1. Thought I'd found a really nice headset at a really nice price, but nope. Not with them doubling, tripling, even quadrupling the price lol. Latest I've seen these are now available for $200. Insane. Think I'm going with the wireless Steel Series Artis 7 for $150 this time around, but I'm still shopping. I've had this headset about 9 months so far. Two months in they fell from my desk onto the carpet and the piece above the swivel cracked. Luckily it wasn't too bad. I taped it and taped the other side for extra durability. I would recommend wrapping it with electrical tape when you get it as its weak in that area and electrical tape is black anyway. They still swivel and adjust normally. Anyway, beyond that they've been amazing. The sound and mic are really good. I bought these for PUBG and they work really well. I can hear where gunshots and footsteps are quite easily and others have complimented my mic in game a few times. They sound great with music too. The bass is nice and loud, everything is great in those areas. For this and the price I would highly recommend them. The cord on this headset is great too. Its tough and durable. Its plenty long so I can reach further away without removing the headset. I've got it caught a few times and its still holding strong where others have failed. I'm starting to dislike cords in general tho. They get caught under my chair, etc. and wireless is starting to look better and better. If you're ok with cords and want a bomb ass headset that's affordable, get these. Just wrap them with some tape beforehand on the section above the swivel because I'm confident yours will also crack there. Despite that, because of the price and audio quality I still may end up getting them again if/when these ever give out.

A good, solid headset.
Upgrading to these headphones from my turtle beach x12s. First off the audio. The headphones come with a usb adapter that is needed to make use of the 7.1 surround sound. You will also need to download a few drivers and updates off the logitech website for the 7.1 surround sound. After getting installed, its sounds SO much better than my old turtle beaches! The audio is much more crisp and clear, the base is also so much more prominent in these headphones. Music sounds amazing in these, almost comparable with my KRK rokit 6s. When gaming, i get a much more immersive experience with the powerful rumbling of the base and the full 7.1 surround sound experience. Next the headphones. First off, many have argued that the mic on this is very unclear but to fix that, all you need to do is download a software update from Logitech. The only problem I have with the mic is that this headset is noise cancelling but has no built in amplifier so my voice must go through the computer and played back into my headphones in order to hear my own voice. This means the volume of the voice in my headphones can be controlled by the volume wheel. The level i usually play at results in my voice playback being much more quiet than in my old headphones. I find myself frequently speaking much louder, or even yelling into my mic because i am used to the level i hear in my old headphones, people i am talking with often get angry at me for yelling. Even though i sound more quiet to myself, the mic is the same sensitivity, if not more sensitive than my old turtle beaches. When i am not yelling into the mic, the quality is much better than what i thought i was buying. People were saying my voice sounds so much more clear and everyone i talked to immediately noticed and commented on the improvement. Some people did not even recognize me! Comfort. I am a live streamer so I spend a minimum of 3 hours a day wearing this headset. The ear cups fit perfectly around my ear and i find them pretty comfortable. They were a bit tight at first but this was easily fixed by bending the headband outwards a bit. The top head cushion is a bit more hard than my liking. Whenever i put them on, the head cushion is a bit uncomfortable but they usually start to feel better within 5 minutes of wearing. Overall i personally think this one of the best headsets you can buy on a budget. The only real issue i have with these headphones is the voice playback volume but i think this is something i will learn to adjust to. If you are looking for a budget headset for pc gaming and listening to music, this is definitely the one!
