High quality medicinal herb. I've used this and other herbs, in conjunction with diet, to successfully get hormone imbalances under control. This is useful for women having delayed/absent menstruation due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and other hormonal problems that cause late periods. Good for starting a late period. Works safely and predictably. If you think you'll be late due to known hormone probs, start taking it 1-2 weeks before period is due, then stop taking it when bleeding starts, this is for short term use, as needed. DO NOT use if you are bleeding between periods, (shatavari is good herb for bleeding between periods/excessive bleeding/progesterone deficiency, not this one) and DO NOT use if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, because this will trigger miscarriage. If you take medication, have ongoing health issues, see a qualified naturopath, or consult your regular doctor before using this or any other supplement. Herbal medicine IS real medicine, and can sometimes interact unfavorably with allopathic drugs and even other herbs.

I've taken Dong Quai for YEARS. It helped me navigate some issues that I was having back in my 30s and then menopause. When I take it consistently, it keeps the hot flashes down, and has stopped me from taking HRT, as so many other women do.
