The only Ethernet switch you'll ever need!
I chose to purchase the TP-Link five port Ethernet Unmanaged Switch for my apartment to connect multiple devices that required an internet connection. The TP-link is perfect for anyone who needs to connect more than one device to Ethernet internet connections, such as college students, business owners, or the everyday person. I evaluated this device on five different criteria points: size, connection speed, price, power usage, and durability. Below are my findings. The size of this device is perfect in my mind. It is about the size of a normal 3x5 in. flash card and about an inch tall. It takes up almost no room at all, perfect for placing on or behind a desk. Connection speed is amazing! Each of the five ports is capable of internet connection speeds from 10 to 100mbps, which is very good, and they all support Auto MDI/MDIX. There is also no configuration required, just plug in an Ethernet cord from your device into this one and you’re ready to go! It’s just that easy! For less than 10$, this device is the best bang for your buck, worth every penny! It is the cheapest model that I could find on Amazon The power usage for this device is very low, in fact, its energy efficient! It consumes up to 60% less than any other device. I have had this device for over three months now and the only problem I’ve had with it is accidentally unplugging the power to the device. It has held up amazingly well and I couldn’t be happier! Overall, this device is amazing and works like a charm. It is not very expensive and takes up barely any space at all. If you are tired of Wi-Fi not working and only have one port accessible, this is the device for you! I give this device 5 out of 5 stars.

Affordable and does the job
I've been needing a network switch for a while now. My internet plan offers decent speeds, but I was tired of devices fighting for bandwidth, especially during peak hours. After some research, I decided to go with the TP-Link 5 Port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch, and I'm happy to report that it's been a great addition to my home network. **Setup was a breeze.** The switch is truly plug-and-play. I simply connected it to my router and then plugged in my devices (computers, gaming consoles, smart TV) to the switch's five ports. No configuration was needed, and everything worked seamlessly right out of the box. **Performance has been noticeably improved.** Downloads are faster, online gaming is smoother, and video streaming is uninterrupted. The 100 Mbps speed might not be the latest gigabit technology, but it's a significant upgrade from my previous setup and more than enough for my needs. **I also appreciate the compact design.** The switch is small and lightweight, so it fits easily on my desk without taking up too much space. It also runs silently, which is a plus since it's located in my living room. **Here are some additional points that I like:** * **Auto-MDI/MDIX:** This means I don't need to worry about using crossover cables, which simplifies things even further. * **Energy-efficient:** The switch uses less power than traditional unmanaged switches, which is good for the environment and my wallet. * **Affordable:** I found the TP-Link switch to be very budget-friendly, especially considering its performance and ease of use. **Overall, I'm very pleased with the TP-Link 5 Port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch.** If you're looking for a simple and affordable way to expand your home network and improve your internet speeds, I highly recommend this product. It's been a reliable and hassle-free solution for me. **Just a few things to keep in mind:** * This switch only offers 10/100 Mbps speeds, so if you have a gigabit internet plan, you'll need a different model. * It's an unmanaged switch, which means you don't have any advanced configuration options. If you need more control over your network, you'll need a managed switch. But for most home users, this TP-Link switch is a great option. It's easy to use, delivers noticeable performance improvements, and is very affordable.

Kinda slow, does need a plugin! (Power)
For the price, its great. I looked all over in the product description, and I could not find if it needed a wall adapter (120v standard American plugin) so when I opened the box and saw a black adapter, it was disappointing. Not shocked really, but I was hoping that technology had eliminated the need for it, like on my newer external hard-drives. I'm out of plugins at our mega-desk (Yes, that's a Dwight Shrute reference) with the two desktops, monitor, many many power adapters for modems, sound bars, two printers and ect. Installation was a breeze! Plugged in into the wall (not a breeze, but that's not an issue of the product) Plugged in a LAN jumper from my modem (NOT included) on port 1 of the switch, and then plugged my devices into the rest. In the quick install guide, it shows using port 5 as the LAN in from modem, but seems to be working fine. I may switch that and do more speed tests. If I do, Ill update my review. No software to install anywhere, no calling Comcast (I remember the olden days when you did have to do such things) Onto the performance. A bit slow. Now, I knew when I bought it, there are faster ones around. This one was $10, had decent reviews, so I ordered it. Here's the test results from Speedtest.net; Without tp-link Switch 24ms Ping 117.10 MBPS Download 12.11 MBPS Up - - - - - 21ms Ping 114.44 MBPS Download 11.99 MBPS Up - - - - - 59ms Ping 116.99 MBPS Download 12.02 MBPS Up Those are on a Windows 10 desktop, cable router. Here's the results, same PC, running through the tp-link switch. Same site, same server. 21ms Ping 69.65 MBPS Download 11.93 MBPS Up - - - - - 75ms Ping 70.47 MBPS Download 11.91 MBPS Up - - - - - 57ms Ping 71.07 MBPS Download 12.10 MBPS Up So we can see, its quite a bit slower. Not a deal breaker for me, I have my "Gaming" PC hooked up (I'm old, so its all simulation games, not dependent on online speed, lag doesn't matter) my garage door commutator and soon, my printers. After I do some research, my FireTv (not FireStick) may be added to that list, but as of now, I'd probably curse the switch out every time Netflix buffered. All in all, I'd recommend this to anyone who needs more LAN space AND has devices that don't need the full bandwidth.

Awesome affordable Ethernet switch
I've been using these exact same switches for years and never once had a network outage. For the price, you really can't beat them.

Just flip the switch...
I decided to upgrade my router to allow me to add additional computers to my network with no changes to my existing installation and network configuration. This product was the ideal solution and works well as described. Connectivity is excellent and is truly plug and play to operate. I can now connect four additional computers to my router using this device. A good value.

Awesome.
So I bought this switch because I only had one Ethernet port in my room but had to split that cable into 4 separate cables in order to provide Ethernet to 2 desktops and 2 laptops in my dorm room. Really, I couldn't be any more impressed, it works flawlessly right from the box, it's incredibly cheap for what it is, and it looks great next to all of our other networking stuff. It runs at the maximum speed of the internet we're provided and I haven't had any problems with it since getting it 4 months ago. The box hasn't cut out since I got it and it has worked extremely reliably since getting it. One smart tip for it is to get some double sided tape in order to tape it down as it's quite light and the cables connected to it can move it around, just for the aesthetic of the device. Another thing to consider with this is your internet service provider as I know some of them don't actually allow for switches if you're getting your internet straight from an Ethernet port from the wall rather than a modem providing Ethernet to your house. I had to call out internet provider and get everything sorted out to make it it was all find and working. But after that the switch worked perfectly and I haven't had to touch it since. Of course the previous warning is unnecessary if you have your internet from a jack connected to your modem, because in that case you're in control of your internet and everything. Again, this is just a great switch and it does everything it says in a small perfect little package.

Small discreet, good enough
TP-Link 5 Port 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch, Desktop Ethernet Splitter, Ethernet Hub, Plug-and-Play, Fanless Quiet, Desktop Design, Green Technology, Unmanaged (TL-SF1005D) Cheapest one I can find. Works great still. I needed a couple more drops in my room for wiring a Sonos speaker , a TV, a wired Google TV module and this works well enough and small discreet product . I have a few of these and it's good enough

Jakoś to przegapiłem.
