Pop a cap in it.
Having put up a fair amount of roofing felt, house wrap, and campaign yard signs with a hammer-tacker, I'd never do the first two that way again. The felt gets torn and the wrap rips. (Smacking the candidate on the forehead is still the only way to go.) The cap nails do a good job, but that a two-handed, slow operation, and has a cost to fingers. I purchased this cap stapler to do a FC siding job, so it's been used on a bit of felt and a lot of Hardie-wrap, and it was definitely money well-spent. The tool is easy to load with both caps and staples, and locks when the staples are out. The depth adjustment does a decent job of minimizing missed caps, and the cap feeder is 99.5% effective. Approximately. :-) The tool is a bit bulky, but that likely unavoidable. It is very light and provides a good grip. And, especially considering the alternatives, it is very fast. I wouldn't break it out for a very small job, but as soon as it's past 100 sf or so, this is the right tool.

Great tool for roof underlayment.
This is the first cap stapler I've ever owned or used. I like it very much. It works great for roof underlayment. It makes the job go quicker and they really hold well. Great tool.

Don't overpower it
Bostitch instructions say don't connect to a source greater that 100PSI. They aren't kidding. When I first started using it I had numerous failures where the staples were placed but the caps fell to the ground. On examination I found that the staple bridge was being driven completely through the cap. After I backed off the outlet pressure on my compressor to about 100 PSI the device worked flawlessly.

Aggravating!
Very frustrating tool. Right from the start never really seemed to run right. Caps fell out constantly or misfired or jammed quite often as well. always kept it oiled never dropped it and kept it in case final Straw fire pin sheared some how inside the gun. This gun is only 6 months old. Overall not wort 50 dollars let alone 250+. Love the idea of it. Always been happy with bostitch products. Not this one.

This is THE way to do underlayment.
Where has this tool been all my life? It works very well. The stapled discs hold down roofing and siding underlayment. Most recently it was used on Tigerpaw, which is a heavier synthetic. No problems. I highly recommend this tool.

Works ok and is a pretty cool tool
Works ok and is a pretty cool tool, but is very prone to jamming. The cap advance mechanism is not very good and mis-feeds the caps frequently. also the firing pin jammed a few times. In most pneumatic guns if you release the clip the pin will pop back. this one does not.

Should of Bought this Sooner.
Been hanging Tyvek for many years. With the cap & staple method using this stapler it keeps the sheeting right where you want it. This is a great addition to my tool collection. Should of bought this sooner.
