Good book, would be a great read for children

My children enjoyed this book immensely. It's a great story, and I appreciate the focus on being courageous when hope seems lost.

I enjoyed this book and think it would be great for 3rd grade student as it keeps the story interesting throughout and delivers the facts of the historical period simply enough.

Although written for a young reader, even adults will enjoy this sweet tidbit of history during the FDRoosevelt era. It shows the hardships experienced during the depression, hardships which hit families so hard it makes you want to cry - yet there is a sweet slice of hope by two young girls. The one girl (main character) puts all her hope in "one basket" in a desperate means to help save others. This small book pulls you in and finds you cheering in your heart for the young girl. Very readable and very entertaining yet very realistic with history lessons within. A five star recommendation to buy and read!

My daughter loves this book! Hard to put down.

My daughter asked me to read this book with her. What a lovely story of people overcoming hard times and trying to help others along the way!

I loved how descriptive it was. I was thinking of the names and wow Margo, Rosa and Charlie! It was really sad at first I don’t want to spoil it 😊😊😊

The story moved along well. The characters were interesting. Some useful bits of history. Overall decent book for a reluctant reader.
