It works, but play it safe. Do it if you can accept the risk.
I would recommend some general safety on your part before you decide on taking a gamble on buying a renewed item on Amazon. I've done it once before with an iPhone 12 mini a few years ago. Loved that phone. Actually got a pretty decent phone all things considered. My experience was that of impulse. I wanted a MacBook for awhile. Last year I bought a Mac mini, but I was really starting to feel the burn of not having a real beefier computer, so I ended up getting a desktop PC. I like my PC, but it has very specific use cases. I've ran into issues where I'd like to have a laptop, or rather the portable-ness that comes with having a laptop. I was going to go with a Mac Neo or Air. But as a photographer, I really wanted to have something with a bigger screen to really get the most out of my purchase. A new MacBook M5 pro 16 inch is somewhere close to 2500. Which is out of my budget. I stumbled onto this guy and thought it was too good to be true. An M1 Pro, with 16gb for 760. I figured since the iPhone I got was good. This would be good too. And it is. I got this because this specifically had the prime association, so I figured if it didn't work I'd be able to replace it fairly quickly. I ended up ordering this and got it a few hours later which was sweet. The box it came in... what a joke. It was this flimsy cardboard that was barely holding on. The paper was warped and old. The flap it came with was very loosely closed, just moving it slightly felt like the box was going to disintegrate. Thankfully the laptop was protected with a sturdy bubble pillow case. My MacBook is virtually fine. No problems with the keyboard or screen. The back was mostly scratch free outside of the sticker residue on the back corner. But it's small and can be cleaned. It came with what I think is a real MacBook charger, but it's just USB C, not MagSafe. It had no battery life when I got it. I was a little afraid it wouldn't charge. Sure enough it did and soon we were off and running. This is a solid laptop. I've been putting it through the paces and it's been working great. It's got a fantastic screen and has all the extra ports, like HDMI and SD slots. I've taken a look at the battery and it's been showing at around 90 percent. Not too shabby I say. The battery life is crazy. I have a windows 16 inch laptop for work and it's dead within like two or three hours. So far I've been unplugged for a hour on this guy and we're on 98%. I've watched a few videos and written this review in that time. The reality is this laptop is older and in terms of compatibility who knows how many updates it will continue to get. However, I'm not overall too worried as long as it lasts for two or three years just so I can get the most out of it. Once it's gone I'll see about turning this into a linux based laptop and live out life that way to eek as much as I can for this. The screen on the is really incredible and it for sure has some pop to it. The mini LED tech is really so cool to see in action on this. I watched the movie Casino on here and it was impressive seeing the black ratio be pretty good. Not quite OLED, but mark my words. The OLED MacBook Pro is going to be complete overkill. I will say, when this computer finally won't update anymore, I'll definitely end up getting a new one since I'll know for sure I'll my moneys worth out of it.

No Regrets
Come in perfect condition! Absolutely a steal! This Mac still outperforms many laptops in 2026! Came in very neat and protective packaging. Came with no scratches or signs of use and with 100% battery health! I highly recommend buying this product!

Terrible experience with Woot
This was by far the worst experience I have ever had, purchasing a computer. I trusted that Woot was selling a refurbished MacBook that was functional. As others here mentioned, it came in an “Apple Refurbished” box. The apple box was shrink wrapped, the accessories brand new, the MacBook itself was in pristine physical condition, and I even pulled the felt liner protecting the display. I saved up for this computer for a couple months. I was so happy! Then I turned it on. The battery had less than 10 cycles…great. Then the computer locked up and I was informed that this computer was the “property” of another company, and that I had to accept “remote management” to continue. Remote management is where an IT department can regulate and monitor everything on the laptop!! There are some hacks available to block the remote management IP address, but there is no guarantee that Apple won’t override this in a future O/S patch. So I basically had a bricked laptop. HERE’S THE KICKER: I reached out to Woot customer service almost a dozen times to try and get this resolved. On their website, they were SELLING an identical MacBook Pro, but they couldn’t do a swap because “that is a separate inventory.” They offered $300 refund to fix it but I already confirmed there is no permanent fix. Apple refused to touch it. And, in order to make original purchase, I obtained a $500 Amazon account credit plus Afterpay, and Woot doesn’t accept Amazon account credit. So when I returned the laptop, I was unable to make a purchase with Woot. End of story: no laptop. I’ve been a Woot customer since 2006.

Super fast Macbook with plenty of ports
I'm not a fan of the price of Macbooks but if you can get past that, this truly is a great laptop. It's very fast and powerful. This is my main work computer, and I run lots of software throughout the day, such as Word and Excel, but also several browser windows with many tabs open, Slack, and Zoom with no problems at all. I also do video editing (Da Vinci Resolve) while everything else is running and still no loading issues. This is my first Mac with an M chip and I was worried I might run into software compatibility issues but I was able to transfer everything from my Intel-based Macbook to this one seamlessly. This has three USB-C ports and each one is capable of charging the computer or connecting to an external monitor, which is great. But this also has a proprietary charging port if you need an extra USB-C port and it has an HDMI port if you want to use that for a monitor. The charging cable also connects magnetically, which is nice because it'll pop right off if you accidentally trip over the wire. There's also an SD port, which is awesome for me since I do a lot of photo and video editing work. It's so much easier to pull the SD card out of my camera and download media to the computer or to another hard drive. I ordered the 16" model after using a 14" model for years and it took me a while to get used to it. This computer is much larger and felt way oversized for several weeks but I eventually got used to it. I still miss my old 14" laptop for portability though because it was smaller and much lighter. I still haven't taken this computer out with me because it's big and I'd rather just leave it at home. But the benefits of a larger screen is a huge plus. On the smaller Mac, I couldn't split screen and work out of two windows. The 16" model makes split screen possible, so I don't always need an external monitor. I'm far more productive with this screen. Another drawback of the size is the large hand rest area. I have to reach much further to reach the keys and my wrists rest on the edge of the laptop, which is a little uncomfortable. I wouldn't say one size is better than the other, just that each one has its benefits. The screen is huge. I have another 15.5" PC laptop and the screen on this Mac feels so much larger, because the bezel on the edges is very thin. Very little space is wasted here. The speakers are great and that's one thing I've always loved about Macbooks over PC laptops (or at least the ones I've owned). I have three other Windows machines and the speakers are terrible and sound tinny. But the audio on this Macbook feels like you're surrounded by the sound and everything sounds crisp and clear. You can hear the bass. The camera is pretty good, and much better than previous models (such as the 2019 model I previously used). It's not amazing and you'lll probably still want to use an external camera for higher quality video calls, but this camera is still surprisingly good. It does a great job of lightening up the scene in dark rooms.

Computer is fine...Bad charger--TWICE.
This computer arrived safely packaged, with charger and cord. I have used it for a month, and so far, the computer is working great. Speed and function are as expected, all operating systems work flawlessly. My previous "renewed" computer had a faulty keyboard, but so far this one is working okay. Battery holds a charge well, and charges fast, both with c-cord and with MagSafe cord. That brings me to the PROBLEM: The charger that came with the computer was faulty. It overheated very quickly, to the point of burning my fingertips when I touched it. I reported the issue to the seller, and they quickly sent me a replacement charger. It has the same problem! I bought an OEM 140 w charger of my own, with the magsafe connection, and that one works fine. It barely gets warm, even when battery is almost dead; and charges quickly. But both OEM chargers sent by this seller overheat. Once they overheat, the charging light on the magsafe connector blinks off for about 3 seconds, then comes back on, and the computer screen dims at the same time and makes the same noise it makes when you first connect to charger, OVER AND OVER, about every minute or less. I am sure that cannot be okay for the computer! I would think it would damage it! If you purchase this computer, expect to invest in your own charger. It is especially an issue for me because I need two chargers. I make daily trips to the hospital with my daughter, and take my computer so I can work while I wait. I need an extra charger in my carry case so I can just unplug computer and go.

One of the best Macs!
Came in perfect condition, the keyboard did kind of come with grease stains but that’s manageable! I’ve had mine for about a month now and it’s truly been the best for me so far! It’s not slow at all.. it is pretty big (16inch) but I love bigger screens so it’s perfect for me. If you want something that you can have in your purse definitely go for something smaller (14inch) but yeah this works amazingly and it also shipped very fast!

Amazon’s Refurbished Program is Unmatched
Given how well the refurbished items I’ve received have been, I’ll probably never buy new. Major discount and I have never been disappointed. This was rated excellent- and it had zero cosmetic defects. Works perfectly. Battery holds a charge for as long as advertised.

[Buyer Beware] Mixed Experience with MBP M1 Pro Purchase
I recently acquired a MacBook Pro M1 Pro, and while the device itself is in excellent condition and appears to be a worthwhile investment, I wanted to share my mixed experience due to a discrepancy with the listed accessories. Pros: The MacBook Pro M1 Pro is in impeccable condition, and its performance has proven to be well worth the money. The battery, in particular, is commendable, having only undergone four cycles. Cons: Regrettably, my satisfaction is tempered by false advertising from the seller. The product listing clearly stated that the MacBook Pro would be accompanied by a USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable (2 m) and a 140W USB-C Power Adapter. However, upon receiving the item, it became evident that these accessories were not included. Instead, I received a third-party power charger with a maximum output of 68W and a USB-C to USB-C cable. Efforts to resolve this discrepancy with the seller were made, but the best resolution offered was a mere $30. This falls significantly short of the actual market value for a used OEM 140W power adapter and USB-C to MagSafe cable. As a result, I find myself currently navigating the inconvenience of slow charging or, at times, the potential inability to charge adequately. While the MacBook Pro itself meets expectations, the disparity between the advertised and received accessories has led to some disappointment. I hope to find a more satisfactory resolution in the future.
