I bought this chair in the titanium color with quartz seat and back. This is my 2nd Aeron chair and they make an enormous difference when I am doing a lot of desk work. My back and legs are MUCH happier than when using any other chair I've had. The chairs are definitely pricey, but I suppose that's what the market will bear. One thing I want to highlight, though, is the color. My other Aeron is the regular black one. This one is in a room with a medium color bamboo floor and light wood cabinets. The black would have stood out in an unpleasant way. This titanium chair makes the room look much less like an industrial office. I'm thrilled that I got the lighter one.

I haven't sat on this quite as much as I had planned, but early signs are very good. The quality is apparent immediately but it's not overly heavy like you might expect. I still do have back pain while sitting but it's far less than even sitting on an expensive gel pad. Also, the pain is escapeable meaning that a minor weight shift takes care of it and you are basically sitting in a firm hammock. Oh yeah, it was very easy to assemble although the scant packaging allowed the cable control housing to pop off and get its pins bent. Most of that blame is on the shipper. It was clearly marked as a two man lift and it was delivered by one skinny guy who was struggling with it.

The best chair in my life

The Aeron chair has become the industry standard for high quality design combined with ergonomic sensibility. They last forever, are as comfortable as any chair ever made and look great in any setting. I would beg to disagree with the other reviewer who whines about price. The chair costs a couple hundred more than cheaper alternatives, but can you really place a dollar value on not having your spine collapse at 40? This is the BMW of chairs, so one pays a premium for the superlative quality and engineering of the product. The Aeron is an excellent investment piece whose long term value is unquestionable. For anyone who sits for long periods and has ever had back, neck, shoulder, or coccyx pain, this chair is a must.
