Really fun to use!
The colors are perfect for portraits! Creamy paint, easy to blend and layer, fun to use, and they dry very quickly. Perfect for sketches or coloring!

So much fun for artists!
I've never used these sticks before. I took a chance on ordering and was pleasantly surprised that these tempera sticks are not heavy and flaky like the tempera paint that we used to have in grade school. These are so nice and creamy, plus they are easy to blend. The short story is that I haven't stopped using them to work in my art journal ever since they arrived. In fact, I ordered several more sets, different colors and different brands, but all awesome.

Skin tone paint stix
I use these tempera paint sticks often in my sketchbook. I was really pleased to find a set that was just skin tones and you get multiples of each color for when you run out of one. Really nice.

Nice neutrals
I like to use these paint sticks in my art journals. They lay down strong color and dry very quickly. They donโt blend like wax pastels, but they have the same feel and they layer well. I have purchased many bright colors. These brown and peach tones are a welcome addition.

Colors don't render beautiful skin tones
As an adult using this set, I found that the colors were dull and strange for them to be skin-tones. With that being said, the paint formula is smooth, the drying time is as promised, and they are easy to use as is the case with most Kwik Stix Solid Paint Pens. In general I highly recommend using tempera paint sticks with toothy paper like watercolor paper for the best color pay off. I ended up returning them and ordering Colorations Color Like Me.

Great for grown-ups too!
Not just for kids! These are a legit drawing/painting tool. Similar to oil pastels but bigger, cleaner and easier to use. They layer well. Some colors are transparent or translucent and some are fully opaque which gives you great flexibility to create interesting color effects!
