Great for the Pacific Northwest
I haven't tasted this bird seed myself, but it looks delicious. Anyway, I'll attempt to speak for the birds and other wildlife in our yard who *have* tasted it :) The ultra-short five-star review: After trying several seed blends in our bird feeders, we've found this 'Ultra Nut and Fruit Blend' to be the one most enjoyed by our birds and squirrels. It's a nice balance of ingredients that our local wildlife likes to eat. TIP: The "best" bird food blend for your yard will vary based on the types of birds that live in your area. Find this out first and you should be able to find a great bird feed. For instance, we live in the Pacific Northwest and this feed seems to cover the dietary needs and preferences of all of our birds. All of the animals that we feed in our yard love this blend. This blend also seems to attract a greater variety of birds than other birdseeds we have put out. The best thing about this blend? No millet! Before we switched to this blend I would find lots of leftover millet in the bird feeders after all of the good stuff was eaten. With this blend the feeders get picked totally clean; There's never a leftover seed, nut or dried fruit nugget. This blend costs more than many other seed blends, but that's due in part to the fact that many other blends contain so much dang millet- a cheaper ingredient that is not enjoyed by many of the birds in my area. This blend has a really nice balance of ingredients that our animals really love- you can see how many peanuts and sunflower seeds and pecans and fruit pieces are in the bag- the price makes sense. In conclusion, we don't shop around for bird seed anymore, we buy this blend every time.

Smells and looks wonderful!
My birds love this stuff! It evens smells delicious to me because of the fruit. A healthy mix that attracts several species of birds and stays fresh a long time. This bag was the perfect size and I feel I got a lot for my money. They packaged it very well to reduce the chance of a busted bag during shipment, which is always appreciated. I could tell right away the corn, seeds, millet etc. were very fresh and not a hint of mildew on anything. The blue jays pounced on the peanuts and fruit before the chipmunks could get them. I add mealey worms to the mix to encourage blue birds to visit the feeder (haven't been successful at that yet. Any hints on attracting more blue birds would be welcomed). I have read that nesting birds feed their chicks insects, not seeds. So I may cut back during the spring/summer months but still leave some out to help the busy parents with a snack while they are foraging for their babes. This is also great to leave beside the pond for nesting ducks. Never throw them bread and I don't throw it in the water because I've read it can get moldy. Better to leave it in the grass and observe from the car/house window while they eat fresh seed.

THE BEST for training gray squirrels
These are my absolute favorite for training my squirrels. I train the live gray squirrels that live in my oak trees in Florida and this is what I use. They don't like the fruit and they don't like the bird seed, but there are lots of peanuts in here. I mostly buy this for the sunflower pieces. I use the peanuts to throw out when first training my squirrels, then as they get more comfortable getting closer, I eventually train them to eat piles of sunflower pieces then later they eat the sunflower pieces out of my hand until they let me pet them. Ok, now don't freak out. Nuts naturally have rice weevils in them--or the eggs/larvae anyway, so when they are warehoused they hatch. Don't be surprised if you see them in here--especially the longer you leave them around. These ARE NOT for human consumption people! Put them in Tupperware as soon as you open them and don't leave them lying around for too long before you use them up. Another trick is to put them in or keep them in the freezer, especially if you aren't going to use it all in the next month or two. My cardinals love the sunflower seeds. My blue jays love the peanuts. One or two bags I got had way too much bird seed--but this was unusual for this product, so I wrote it off as a fluke. As I recall, I fed these to my Robohamsters as well and it's great for them as they like the fruit too.

Great feed minus the seeds
I use this to feed the squirrels and they love it. Wish it didnt come with the little tiny seeds. Squirrels and the birds won't eat it so it leaves a big mess and is a waste. Other than that this is great feed! Highly recommend.

Totally Worth the Money
Doesn't matter how good a feeder you have if you don't have good feed. This feed draws dozens of birds every day, waiting in line to eat from the buffet. I've had less expensive feed and it's not worth anything if the birds won't eat it. They're very picky...too good for regular bird seed. This is a good buy if you want to see lots of birds. It goes far, there's no filler in it. The baby will sit for a long time just watching the birds come and go on the feeder attached to the window. Right there, it's worth it!

The birds appreciate it and we have seen so many nice, colorful and different birds hanging around our home
we have already bought about 9 bags of pennington bird seeds in the last month and a half. It is well worth it. The birds appreciate it and we have seen so many nice, colorful and different birds hanging around our home. We are the go to spot for all Kentucky birds!

Pennington is by far the best & highest quality
I tried a variety of other brands and this was my favorite. The others seemed to be โcheapโ and my backyard birds could definitely tell. Pennington is by far the best and the birds enjoy every last bit! Will continue to reorder!

Great food!
My backyard birds go INSANE for this food and it smells great too. The only downside is the price for the size of the bag. If I put this exclusively in the feeder, it is gone in an hour. I have been buying a bigger, more economical food to mix in with this so it stretches.
