Mechanics review
After owning 4 pairs of Cincinnatis I feel that I have put these boots through enough to give them a thorough review. Automotive technician, 200lbs with wide feet . Workplace, cement floors for an average or 9-10hrs on the feet 5-6 days a week. Exposed to all types of automotive fluids, kneeling, kicking, stomping, occasional welding splatter and central Ontario weather. These perform exceptionally for an average about 1.5-2years under those conditions. The sole is the first thing to wear out and in my experience the weakest point of the boot. Once the soles are worn down traction does get reduced especially on wet/oily floors. Do not let that sway you. These have held up better than any of the other expensive brands I’ve worn over the years. I always returned to the Keens due to the wide foot and build quality. The flat soles and thick cushioning on these are the best I can find for long days in the shop. Note - I do clean/condition and re-waterproof my boots every 4-6month. I also put in new insoles when needed. These boots can be resoled but I have not done this yet. I have no preference between the 6 or 8 inch. Both are great, just preference. Pick these up and your knees, hips, back and feet will thank you.
