This portable hob is great for camping with an electric hook up. It does however get very hot all over so hence four not five stars. It would have been perfect with some heat insulation or other protective barrier to stop accidental burns. I would still recommend it but it needs supervision.

I bought this at the end of last year because the stove in my kitchen wasn't working. The stove was fixed before I had to use it. Since the stove broke again recently - a month or less ago - I have started to use it, but suddenly it no longer works. In other words, I've had at best a month's use from it.This kind of experience is so common now with goods - particularly but not only electric - bought online, that I have to wonder whether the relative unaccountability of online retail has brought on a kind of crisis in the quality of goods for sale.Items bought in the last year or two that have not lasted more than a few weeks: light bulbs, inflatable beds, a chair, probably others that slip my mind for the present. And now this.I'd rather buy stuff off Derek Trotter.
