D-LINK DCS-5020L WIRELESS-N PAN/TILT NETWORK CAM (Renewed)

I bought three of the 3 packs, which provided a good price. All arrived on schedule and in good condition. They are refurbished, but looked new to me. Installation was reasonably easy, but I have experience with Dlink cameras. I say reasonably since I always seem to hit some caveat. All the cameras are installed and working. A real upgrade from the 930/932 cameras I had. My only complaint is the Dlink app is pretty weak. I would think that for such a big company they would have a more full featured app!

This is my second D-link WiFi camera, the other one doesn't pan or tilt but the setup process is the same, both work well once set up. The process of setting these D-link return cams up is a bit more complicated since you first have to find the correct setup program on the D-link website. Once it is installed on your computer it will guide you through the setup process, be patient with that since it takes some time for the setup steps to register with the camera. Once set up they work very well, decent resolution and pretty clear night vision. It's reassuring to be able to look around the inside of my house when travelling or when I receive an alarm notification from my alarm system.

Excellent security cam! I was a little worried about this 'refurbished' product upon receiving it and failed 1st installation. After pushing 'reset' and follow step by step instructions, it's working amazingly well: clear day and night view, sound clear thru my iPhone app dlink view, email image and video clips on motions. A+ security cam !

Don’t waste your money on this. It’s a great camera WHEN IT WORKS but 90 percent of the time it doesn’t. My other Dlink cameras work just fine but for some reason this one never connects and once it does it kicks you off after X amount of time and even if you try to click it back on it always gives an error. The sound option only works sometimes as well which is not what you want.

....BUT--no matter what I do, I cannot get this camera to detect motion. It sends me images of bugs flying around in the middle of the night, but when my postal delivery driver brings packages to my porch, or people come to my porch in the middle of the day--NOTHING. I have the latest firmware and I have reset/setup the camera a couple times to make sure that I have the motion detection settings properly configured. I bought this for daytime motion detection and seeing images of large bugs flying around, although amusing, doesn't do much for security during the day. My only other issue is that the fixed focus seems to change on its own, even though I set it upon installation. I have to tweak it every few weeks to get the video feed looking better. This was purchased as a refurb and the price was amazing, but I think I may have gotten a dud, but it does work, minus the motion detection...I have made sure the firmware is the latest. FWIW: I have other Dlink cams on the same network that do work properly as far as the motion detection is concerned. I will just deal with it for the price I paid, but it would be great if it worked properly.

I purchased this camera as a Refurnished item. Keep in mind I have a similar (DCS-5020L) that works just fine. I could not get this camera connected to my network after 20 attempts. I followed the instructions as prescribed with no luck. I'm not sure if the camera is defective or not, but had to return it anyway.

What a great camera! Works very well in the dark. Used for security, and most recently to catch which cat was peeing inappropriately, so the vet could treat the right one. Would buy again! Very nice interface to phones or computers for remote watching.

This is a great camera for the price, I had it set up in under 5 minutes. I use this camera so I can keep an eye on my cat while I'm out of town, you can control the camera on the app and look around the room. You can also set it up to email you video and/or images when it detects motion or sound. I have this running with my DCS 932LB1 which I use as an outdoor camera on my porch.
