Quality unit - quiet. Easy install for novice that is handy with tools. Excellent customer service.
This is a quality through-the-wall heat pump. There is an instructional video on youtube that shows how to assemble the sleeve - very helpful. I had to call the company though about some pieces of foam included that the video does not cover. The included instruction sheet for assembling the sleeve is not very helpful - the tiny drawings do not make clear in what orientation to place the foam pieces. I called customer service. They did an outstanding job of walking me through the assembly. Similarly, there are no instruction on how to attach the sleeve to the surrounding structure. There are no holes through which to put a screw, etc. I contacted customer service via their email form. Quick response, but technician I got did not understand my question and just referred me to the video which does not cover how to affix the sleeve to the surrounding structure. In the end, I drilled two holes about 2-3 inches from the top and the bottom on each side, about 2.5 inches from the front of the sleeve. That placed the screws into the 2x4 framing around the sleeve. I drilled the holes through the sleeve and then used wide pan head screws to affix the sleever. Overall, the installation was not difficult for me - I have never done anything like that before. You will likely need 2 people to slide the unit into the sleeve. The unit powered up and was ready to use very quickly. Very quiet operation as well. So far, impressed with the quality and customer service.

Solid Thru Wall Unit
Easy install, this is as good or better made that the unit it replaced. For the install have some quality caulk for the exterior and interior. Blows dice cold air and heats well, cycles off more frequently than the older unit so definitely seems more efficient.

There's good things and bad things, but overall good
So, I gave this 5 stars for one reason, it does what I wanted it to do. Lot of heat, and lots of AC. Control panel is easy, its quiet, so it got 5 stars. But there's several things I'd call "poor engineering" that I fixed after getting the unit. A couple in MY opinion could shorten the life of the unit. If you install the sleeve and outer louvers the way the instructions tell you to, the louvers are tightened from the inside and you cant remove the louver without pulling the whole heat pump out of the sleeve, and thats a 2 person job. So the louvers that are outside where hot or cold exhaust comes out, have no screen on it on the inside. So, wasps, yellow jackets, stink bugs etc can fly right in and make nests inside the unit, Not good. I think the reason they dont have a screen is what I already mentioned, you cant take the louvers off easy, so you cant clean the screen. I left my louvers a tiny bit loose by not totally tightening the 4 corner "keepers" from the inside, so I can lift the louver up and off. I am still looking for the exact screen large enough to not block exhaust, and small enough to keep bees out. Next, the sleeve has 2 drains, one left and one right. BUT, the heat pump itself sits in its own tray and that slides into the sleeve. The tray has a lip all the way around it, which fills up with water until it overflows and goes out the sleeve drain. But, when its full, you have a few components of the heat pump sitting in about an inch of water, copper tubes, aluminum fins, etc. I called the company, they said they have a temperature sensitive widget that if it gets near freezing, it opens a port to drain the water before it freezes so the components dont get frozen and damaged. What if you dont reach freezing? He didnt have an answer. I dont want things underwater or moldy water in there, so he said it was ok to drill holes in the pan. So I did, but why not drill holes at the factory and save the expense of the widget? On the inside of the unit, in the house, The directional louvers that spread the heat or cold are fixed, so no control over which direction the air flows. And lastly, when you have it going, like on heat, I set the temp for 69, it heats up our large country kitchen really fast, and goes into a sleep mode until the temp drops below 69, and then it comes back on. But there's no pilot light on the control panel, so when it goes into sleep mode, it looks as dead as if you had unplugged it. So if you have several people in the house, you really dont know if someone turned it off, or if its in sleep mode. So you have to push the on/off to find out. The inside problems you cant fix , but the outside problems are more important, and you can fix them. So there's my 2 cents worth!

This unit is everything that the company said that it has and how well it works. It is truly an amazing unit and quite too. Love this unit, installed it with a friend inside of a block wall.

Defective after one week – company requires paid technician or full removal
I purchased this PTAC unit to replace an existing 42” x 16” through-wall system. Installation was standard and the unit operated normally for about one week. After that, the heating cycle began producing an extremely loud metallic hammering noise from inside the chassis when heat engages. The noise is not airflow — it sounds like sheet metal violently expanding or vibrating. This is clearly a manufacturing or assembly defect. I contacted the company for support. Their resolution options were: 1. Pay out of pocket for a technician to inspect the unit 2. Remove and return the entire unit for a refund For a through-wall PTAC, removing the unit leaves a large exposed opening in the wall, which is not practical or safe, especially in winter conditions. Requiring a customer to pay for diagnosis of a defective product or to uninstall a permanently installed unit is not reasonable. This is not a minor cosmetic issue — it is a structural defect within the heater assembly. If you are purchasing this as a permanent wall installation, understand that warranty support may require full removal at your expense. I cannot recommend this unit based on my experience

Good choice for me.
Replaced an old existing unit so, installation went as smooth as one would expect. The shipping company was great. They communicated a time and were punctual. The unit arrived with no damage and works as intended. It is much quieter than i expected so thats a bonus too.
