Perfect for my Aventon Pace 4
The Swagman Deluxe Bar Adapter has been a game‑changer for my Aventon Pace 4. I’ve always struggled to get a secure fit on my bike rack because of the step‑through frame, and this adapter completely solves the problem. It snaps into place easily, locks firmly, and gives the rack a solid top‑tube point to grab onto—no more awkward angles or worrying whether the bike is actually secure. The build quality is better than I expected. The bar uses a hard, durable plastic on the contact points, which does a great job preventing scratches and scuffs. That’s a big improvement over the cheaper adapters I’ve tried, which often use thin or soft plastic that wears down quickly or marks the frame. Fitment is spot‑on for the Pace 4, and the telescoping design gives you plenty of adjustability for different bikes. If you have a step‑through ebike and you’re tired of wrestling with your rack, this adapter is absolutely worth it. Simple, sturdy, and effective—exactly what I needed to finally transport my bike with confidence.

Durable and reliable
Great product! So easy to use and really helps hold our bikes in place. Doesn't take up a lot of space and when done riding just hook it to the bike for storage. Priced spot on!

Easy, strong, effective
New Mountain Bike wouldn't fit onto my trunk-mount bike rack. This fixed it, instantly. My bike is an e-Bike, so it weighs almost 50lbs. No problem at all with the weight. Mechanism worked easily. Just note: the two ends are slightly different sizes, so one naturally fit best at the stem, and the other at the seat. Be sure to try both ways so you find your fit.

Excellent Value and Good Functionality
I'm merely echoing some of the sentiments previously expressed by other reviewers; however, I can add the perspective of having bought a similar product (the Yakima Tube Top) at a local bike shop last weekend. I bought the second one in order to be able to load a bike that is a little difficult to load without the bar adapter and it will be easier for my partner to load bikes if I'm not around to help. The Swagman is a little lighter than the Yakima. Both have push-button-pins to lock the bar in place once the end loop is closed (nice) though the buttons on the Swagman are larger and easier to use than the Yakima. Swagman and Yakima both have vinyl-clad end pieces, however the inner / bottom portion of the Swagman is not coated or clad, whereas the Yakima is, so the Swagman COULD possibly scratch the finish on your bike, whereas the Yakima will not. Swagman is spring-loaded so once you put it in place, it will pull closed whereas the Yakima is not. I do like the spring loaded feature. Swagman ends rotate, Yakima ends do not. Rotation could be helpful getting around reflectors or other apparatus on the bike. Swagman is steel whereas the Yakima is allow, so greater risk of rusting. Not really concerned about that though. I paid $40 at local bike shop for the Yakima and only $26 on Amazon with free shipping (quick delivery - thanks Amazon). Either one of these products will undoubtedly work fine; I'm giving Swagman 4 vs. 5 stars for 2 reasons - Steel vs. Alloy, and the metal exposed part that could be coated so as not to risk bike finish; similarly I'd give the Yakima 4-Stars because of the lack of rotation and spring-loaded features. But in both cases, I'm happy with the purchase and would buy either one of them again.

Great Idea and Works as Intended
I like the ease of installation. I needed this for my Trek Marlin 6 MTB for use with Swagman's bike rack. In order for it to work really nice in my application, I purchased and installed an accessory clamp from Summit Racing to my seat drop post that provides a solid support anchor for the end of the bar closest to the seat.

For the kid bikes!
This did the trick for my 8 year old daughter's bike. Would definitely be too big for a toddler bike, though. Felt very sturdy, the ends twist for ease of application and while expandable, its natural tendency is to retract as much as possible which makes for a solid hold. My only minor gripe is that you cannot lock the red bits shut (unless I am just missing something.) So if this bike was on the back of your car in a parking lot, someone could easily detach it from the bar and keep going. Easy enough to rectify with a lock, however. So, so pleased to finally have found something that allows us to take her bike with us! Update: Still using the bar on the back of our bike. Still very useful. I do want to add that after being out in the elements for almost a year (we leave the bar on our bike rack) it is rusting somewhat. Both the balls that hold the swinging mechanism shut are rusting, as well as something internally (you can see the rust when you extend the bar to fit the bike in place.) Everything still works so far, but be aware that exposure to the elements will take its toll kinda quick (or at least quicker than I would have expected.)

Bike rack bar
I purchased the bar , the bar is extremely well made and very easy to use. The bar expands to fit my walk through Trek bike so I can easily secure my bike on the rack. I like the way the ends are covered to protect the paint on my bike from being scratched up by the vibration of the car and rack while driving. I highly recommend this for all bike type of frames. This fits my wife bike also which is a different style all together.

Flexible Fahrrad-Querstange
