A good quality demonstration DC motor
I waited 11 months before assembling this motor expecting to be used in a physics demonstration class. It worked fine on 6 and 12 Volts. It needed just one small adjustment but it was easy to assemble. Just one of the screws arrived with a missing nut. The quality is good and I am happy with this purchase. Recommended.

Love it
Remember to not let the brushes ( the copper colored metal attached to the battery terminals) touch the same copper plate of the stator. Picture shows proper placement of brushes to start motor. Works well. Works best with alligator clips and two people to start. Could also install switch to make it easier.

Great STEM gift!
Great STEM gift to teach your child about electricity and magnets as they relate to a DC motor. Just be sure to place the brushes properly so they don't short out on a single commutator copper pad. Small issue: I wish that the kit came with an on/off switch.

Works, with some tweaks.
I used this for my high school physics class, to illustrate how a brushed motor works. There are no instructions for assembly, but they did figure it out; my main issue is that the brushes don't make good contact with the commutator, and thus the only way we could get it to work was to physically press the brushes against the contact. We did manage to bend them so that they will keep working for a little while with no pressure (then the contact declines, and the motor slows down and stops), but this isn't the best way to show how a motor works. I know this is inexpensive, but it does seem like just a little better design would make this work properly. I debated about returning this; decided to keep it, but give it 3 stars.

Not perfect, but it works!
It works. It’s not perfect, but for less than $10 shipped, it’s great. It does short the battery when the motor is in resting position, so right after plugging the battery, you have to give it a little spin, and then it goes. Or you put the motor in the start up position before you plug the battery, and it’ll spin on its own. So it has issues, but gets the job of the demonstration done. The issues that it has are arguably a bonus point as a further exploration/puzzle for kids.

Kinda low quality but it is 10 bucks
We had to resolder the wires back on on some of the rotors. Pretty low quality but ok for students.

Good educational model
This turned out to be a really good kit. I have given 4 stars, because the first one to arrive was missing parts. However, I ordered again and assembled it today (easy) and it works just fine. I paid $12.87 CDN., and it is good value at that price. However, there are sellers on the Amazon site that are charging far more, so be careful not to pay too much..

Low quality but works
Didn’t expect much at this price but quality is pretty low. Two nuts missing and a wire with a broken solder that I had to fix. But it works and my grandson wants to keep it, otherwise I would have returned it

Broken
It came disconnected so it doesn’t work. It’s at the solder joint.
