Definitely worth it!
Out of all the things Iโve bought, they have all lost their usefulness over time, most things only last so long, but this is an investment, the price for this has increased a couple hundred since Iโve bought it, and it is virtually indestructible, not even bullets can hurt it and it will outlive you, your kids, and your kids kids, this product will never fail to make others smile and surprise them, it is the perfect desk piece. If you do get this just remember to be very careful with it, I think it should come with a warning to not drop it, not for the cubes sake but for the floors sake, hard wood floor? Concrete? Stainless steel? Steel toe boot? This cube will destroy all of that if dropped and still remain just like new, you couldnโt hurt this even if you tried, Iโve held a blowtorch to the side for about a minute and believe it or not the side felt just as cold as before right after. Itโs held its shine perfectly, its elemental properties are intriguing to me and others, I love handing it to people and watching their hand drop and their face light up, this has been the most meaningful thing in my life so far and I donโt know what I would do without it. I highly recommend you get this, you will get exactly what you pay for and this object cannot physically lose value over time so if you change your mind you can re sell it, probably for more than you payed for.

Gravity, Density, Life, and The Object Which Links Them
To the unappreciative man, this cube is no more than an expensive trinket which is unusually heavy. However, the most astute of men will realize that this humble metal cube is well worth the price. This object serves as a demonstration of the power of gravity, as a reminder of the nature of matter, and as life lesson โ it is the closest thing to a philosopherโs stone that the average man can acquire. This tungsten cube pays homage to the most easily overlooked phenomena which dominates our daily lives: gravity. Without this fundamental force, our everyday books, shoes, and coffee cups would all be floating in the air and have no fixed place; in fact, position itself would bear little meaning, as we would all be floating along in a cold, motionless universe. Without gravity, perhaps the universe itself would not exist. Upon picking up the cube, the owner will immediately be shocked by the force which is dragging their hand down to the ground. The magical force of gravity which pulls us all to earth is immediately, immaculately demonstrated. Like Thorโs hammer, the abnormal weight conveys a unique, magical feeling, setting this cube apart from any other object. However, despite its significance, gravity is no more than one force. The expression of this cube goes far, far beyond the constraint of gravity. This cube is a true affirmation of the nature of โmassโ and where it comes from. When someone picks up this cube, they are first shocked by the weight, but then they begin to think about why the cube is so heavy. This cube will bring even the most cold-hearted person to tears as they think back to their youth, recalling school science classes where they learned about where the weight of an atom comes from. They then realize how unique the property of mass is and how it colors the universe with a new fundamental characteristic. Tungsten is a substance which is forever. It is the hardest metal and also has the highest melting point of any metal. In all practicalities, it is indestructible. Owning this cube means that you will be in the possession of an object which will be unscathed even if your house burns down. You can spend many lifetimes gazing at its pristine surface whispering โmy preciousssโ and it will not once degrade. Simply knowing that this object will last for generations to come is an enlightening experience. This cube serves as a reference point for the passage of time, reminding the owner that their life is incredibly short and should be well spent. However, perhaps the most important aspect of this cube is the lesson it imparts on the owner: that not everything is as it seems. Until you hold this cube in your own hand, you will not grasp the true meaning of this principle. Buy this cube. Now.

Simultaneously cool, useless, impressive, expensive, and interesting
I own both the 2.5" and 2" cubes, and both are impressive to hold. I'd say the 2" size is best for people with smaller hands, namely children and smaller adults. The 2.5" size is great for people with larger hands. As a fidget toy, the 2" cube is best in my opinion, but who can deny the immense heft of the 2.5" cube? I can reach out and pick up the 2", but struggle a little if I'm reaching across my desk to pick up the 2.5" cube. My only non-complaint is the sturdiness of the stand. The enclosed stand was intended for lighter weigh objects such as Rubik's cubes, but was never intended for what will no doubt remain THE most dense object any of us will ever hold in our lifetimes (unless you can afford to spend $300,000 for the equivalent 2.5" gold cube).

My review 2.5 inch cube.
Once more I've purchased another Tungsten cube without a need. These are very attractive though totally unnecessary for the most part. I have managed to use as a object weight when shipping boxes or to keep closed. I like tungsten's heavy weight in a generally speaking small package. I've purchased in 2" and 1.5" sizes, the 2" included a 1" cube for a total of five cubes not including the 2.5". I gave the 1.5" away to a co-worker. The 2.5" should try and use the more durable display included with the 1" cube as its own came shattered and had to be discarded. The cube proper came without damage and I am satisfied with it. I recommend this item.

The raw density when you pick this up is amazing, hard to believe matter can be so compacted!
Just received this today, it is as far as I know the only substance of this density that is relatively affordable. Very well crafted, smooth and incredibly heavy, the weight is very close to gold. Really impressed and I plan on buying some more of these in the future. This size is the best deal price wise per pound as the spheres aren't as voluminous and probably require more machine work. Great paperweight and it's amusing to see the expressions of people who want to move it aside! Will get a old fashioned scale soon to take pictures of it outweighing stuff like a gallon of water.

Heaviness Reflections on Density
We take gravity for granted. Few of us ever wonder why we can skip down a road without bouncing off into outer space ; or why we expect the hammer we left lying on a workbench to still be there the next day ; or, more esoterically, why a kilogram of feathers weighs as much as a kilogram of lead. (Galileo figured that one out quite succinctly and in the process discovered aerodynamics.) So why then is it that a kilogram of feathers feels lighter than the lead ? The answer is density ! Density is defined as mass (in grams) per volume (in cubic-centimetres), with the value of 1 assigned to water. The average density of Earth is around 2.5 g per cm3. Pick up a granite pebble, and you get a sense of what that represents. If your pebble is more like a boulder, you may not be able to lift it - but that wonโt surprise you, because the boulder is large. There has to be an optimal volume for things to communicate their density most effectively to our senses. Perhaps a size that fits in our hands and can be easily grasped would be perfect for comparisons. Iridium (not Osmium as most textbooks have it) is the heaviest of all elements at 22.65g/cm3. (Compare that to lead at a measly 11.34 g/cm3 - almost exactly half !) Iridium costs about as much as Gold. Consequently, I only have a small sample of 0.5 g. It is nearly impossible to feel that this represents an enormous weight for a bead of only 3mm diameter : even the densest of elements weighs nearly nothing at such a small size. Too big a sample, and you wonโt be able to lift it at all ; it might as well be welded to the ground. Nothing much to be learned there either. Midwest Tungsten Service, a company in Illinois, USA, as a playful aside, manufactures a series of cubes (from half an inch to 3 inches to a side) of an alloy of 95% Tungsten, 3.5% Nickel and 1.5% Iron, adding up to a density of 18.02 g/cm3. Pure Tungsten would be 19.3 g/cm3. I have checked several sizes and have a hard time deciding whether the 2.5 inch cube at 4.614 kg (10.17 lbs) or the 3 inch cube at 7.973 kg (17.58 lbs) demonstrates the phenomenon of great density best. Both are undeniably impressive. Both elicit shouts of astonishment from anybody trying to pick them up with one hand - a feat nearly impossible with the three inch version. The 2.5 inch cube looks deceptively small, so, perhaps because of that, it has the greatest surprise value. Both are aesthetically pleasing objects. Both are guaranteed conversation starters. Heavyweight Champion
Nice conservation piece. Weight can be quite misleading for persons trying to quickly pick up the Tungsten cube by hand. You don't expect it to be that heavy. Tungsten is the best thing to have as an affordable high density metal. A 2.5" cube of pure Iridium would be of course even more heavier (density 22.56 g/cm3), but having nearly 5.8 kg iridium in your hand look impressive, it will also empty your wallet by USD 180000 or more. The Midwest Tungsten Cube is much cheaper, but with its glossy brushed finish looks like a gorgeous art object, especially when placed on the plastic transparent holder that is included with the package.

The Cube
Not much to say but it's heavy, stupid heavy to the point it smashed the stand it came with. Wish they would make a bigger version of the same stands from the 1 inch and 1.5 inch I have but over all very happy with my collection so far just need to save for the 3 inch and 4 inch. Also side I hope they make a pyramid shape.
