Do your research and this is a great product that works as advertised!
Product was easy to install and worked exactly as described, software was easy to download, as were the wiring instructions and installation directions. If you are a first time installer, do your home work, there are many resources out there with helpful tips and warnings to save you from making costly mistakes. I spent 6-8 hours of research before I started removing any of the access panels on my wife's SUV. Put together a binder with step by step instructions, highlight those steps that apply to your application, and make notes. I had a binder with over 55 pages of illustrations and notes, includiong a step by step I put together for my application. These are just suggestions, I am not claiming to be an expert by any means, but they were helpful to me, and installing this databus bypass transponder in conjunction with the Compustar CS800-S, I did not have one issue and everyting worked correctly the first time with all safety features and functions working as designed. I only needed one key to program the Idatalink using the KLON installation. Both the 12volt.com and Commando car alarms-vehicle wiring search websites offer free diagrams and step by step, wire to wire connections for most automobile applicatons. I am tankful that these websites take the time to offer to help the DIY'ers. As you will no doubt see numerous times with this databus bypass by IDatalink, do not forget, you will need to purchase the IDatalink Weblink Updater harness that will connect the module to your PC via USB port to download the particular software applicaiton you will need.

Worked great on my 2006 Saturn Vue and with the Compustar CS800-S remote start system
Worked great on my 2006 Saturn Vue. I used this idatalink ALCA databus with a Compustar CS800-S remote start system and it works with no problem. All the connections to my ignition switch were fairly easy to get to and I soldered them all and double taped them too. Took me about 4 hours to install it because I triple checked every connection via the paper instructions and on the internet at their websites. I took my time because I did not want to short anything out. If I did it again It would be half the time.

The only bypass you should look at.
Good module. This works in practically every car on the market. It is a data bypass so it needs a key to initially program it but not one to keep inside it. Buy it here on Amazon as other places will charge you $90 for it. FYI, You need this to bypass the immobilizer in modern cars that use transponder chips in the keys or fobs to start the car. This will replicate the transponder encryption so that you can install a remote starter or whatever in your car.

Worked for Gen 2 prius
Do your research! I'm a DIYer, not scared. Not impossible. I know dc circuitry. If you have a clue, no problem then. If this is your first time cutting a wire in a vehicle, I wouldn't suggest proceeding with this. Will need a dongle to flash to your specific vehicle. So count on buying that too. Also idata document #77704 type 4 wiring, there is a flaw having the key sense and relayed key lock on the same circuit. The relay kick backs current into the circuit and confuses the status input of the bypass causing it not to start sometimes and setting off the factory alarm. The diodes in the diagram do nothing to help this being the current flow is in the wrong direction of the placed diode. Use r/s' status output for the diodes key sense and the r/s' rear defogger for the dioded and relayed key lock circuit. Took me awhile to figure out what was going on. Good luck!

Make sure to flash it before installing.
This worked perfectly, but you need to have it flashed for your particular vehicle. Alarm and stereo shops can do this, but most of them charge for it. There is information on the internet and youtube on how to do this yourself, but it does require purchasing an adapter cable from the USB port of your computer. Lookup Lessco. It would have been nice to know this ebfore spending several hours checking and rechecking all my wiring. After it was flashed it worked like a charm. Super easy install

Perfect bypass for my car
I ordered this bypass as a needed device with the Viper 4706V remote starter. The unit was installed by the Geeks at Best Buy 2/7/14 and as we have severely cold weather here, it has gotten a thorough workout since installation. The unit has worked flawlessly and I will never be forced to sit in a cold car again. My son will probably order the same unit for his Tundra, and my skinny girlfriend wants one for her Prius.

Very reliable. Professional installer required
It’s takes some time. But once you understand how to program these and install them via D2D port or r322 cable- life is so much better. I be been using them for over 5 years now and as a professional installer- they’re my goto for most vehicles
