What makes it a "sports" sandal?

I live in Idaho and our rivers here are known for river rafting and kayak adventures, and I would call this a water sport in our area. These sandals are terrific for water, sand, and give the traction and stability to climb the rocky areas that surround our rivers. The Z2 sandal is my favorite because the toe strap stabilizes the forefoot. The Z2 as well as the Z1 have aheel cup and strapes on either side also. My daughter, while attending college became involved in river rafting with friends, and introduced me to my first Chacos. That was almost 20 years ago. I have worn them ever since. I've had many rewebbed some resoled and I must have at least 10 pair. I am a cancer survivor and suffer from neuropathy in my feet from chemo. Shoes drive me crazy, Chacos are my foot gear of choice. Hope this will give others an opportunity to try these great sandals. Sheri

Does anyone know how to adjust the strap that goes around your heel? I cam adjust everything else beside it and its frustrating. Thinking about return

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the heel strap, in conjunction with the sole itself and the big toe position, is what determines the size of the sandal. Therefore you likely need a different size than what you ordered. Hope that helps!

Can these sandals be used for kayaking ?

Yes . They are very durable. . i feel they are little heavy n takes time to get used to them .

What is the difference between e and ee? is one wide and one extra wide?

For these I have a pair of 11 wide and works fairly well. I have a extra wide 3e to 4e feet. So finding things that functional is tough for sandals and even for work.

Toe Strap or Not to Toe Strap - That is the Question

This is my first pair of Chacos and I couldn’t be happier! I went with all black, my size, and the toe strap. There is debate on whether or not the toe strap rocks or not, and I tell you this now reader - the toe strap is the shizzle! I honestly got it because of the added style the toe strap offers, but honestly out of other sandals I’ve worn without toe straps I do see a significant improvement in functionality. First off, they don’t flip or flop which is lovely. Secondly, they are more secure to your foot so walking in them is easier as they stay in place. They take 2-3 days to break in, but once you wear them around the house for a bit you will be good to go! I had to get use to walking in sandals because I’ve been a flip flop guy for so long, but after a couple days I got my footing and am very satisfied with this purchase. I love the toe strap - and I think if you’re looking for an awesome fitting sandal with some personality then get it! If you’ve been debating - get it. Worse case scenario is you can also pull the strap for the toe down and not wear it. Really happy with my first pair of Chacos!

Best Summer/water/hiking sandal ever!

Love Z2 Chacos. This is my 5th pair in the last 20 years. I wear these sandals from March through November every year and love them. High arch support and great foot cradle.
