Cable Matters 4K DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable (DP to DP Cable, Display Port Cable) 10 Feet - 4K 60Hz, 2K 144Hz Monitor Support

As a professional photographer and graphic artist in today’s world my computer monitors have a direct effect on my livelihood, and price is not a barrier to getting the best available. I just upgraded my main monitor in my home studio and have the capabilities of connecting it via display port interfaces at both ends so I ordered this short 3 foot cable. Searching the listings there were several to choose from. I chose Cable Matters. It wasn’t for price because they are actually one of the lowest cost choices available, but rather on their earned reputation for quality. I keep coming back to this brand because I trust it, and that is everything when your career depends on it. WHAT I LIKE This is what could be called the basic black option. If your decision is made on the theory that bright colors and a trendy appearance has anything to do with the performance of a cable, this isn’t your product. It is thick, not especially flexible with solid feeling ends. It has just the right amount of flex to be used with a monitor that has positioning adjustments that will be used often by the user. THE LOCKS Having used a previous DP cable from this company I have come to appreciate the importance of the locks at each connector that hold the connector firmly in the port and prevent it from working loose or accidentally being pulled out as the monitor is adjusted. To me this is not an option, it is a requirement, and most cables don’t have it. The locks were one of the key deciding factors in choosing this cable. YES OR NO Although the difference of a few dollars either way was meaningless to me in this case, performance was everything. This is a digital cable, there is no better or worse for such a signal, it either meets established standards of performance or it doesn’t. Of course this one does. It is definitely worth considering.

I took a moth to get delivered. But highly satisfied with the quality of the cable and it works like a charm.

Works perfectly for my needs to reach my monitor at its native resolution of 2560x1600@60Hz.

Bought two of these cables to connect my PC monitors (Asus v248qe) to my new graphics card (GTX 1070). If I put the computer into sleep mode with the dp cables connected the computer will shut down and not respond to anything. Once I unplug the cables the computer will then boot to BIOS and I can plug the cables back in. For now I have gone back to my DVI cables. EDIT: The company reached out to me and sent me a free cable to make up for the faulty ones I ordered. The company did not have to do that but they did. That speaks mountains to me. Any company that will, on their own, reach out to make something right at their own expense will have my repeated business. The new cable they sent works like a charm. THANK YOU Cable Matters!
