Exactly what I needed after cable matters didn't work
I tried the cable matters extender that was cheaper but it didn't work on this old marantz. I got this one even though I only need it for 1 device but it really does work. I will say I'm not sure if the emitters are weak or if this receiver is just a pain but I had to position them basically perfect on the receivers face to get it to function, but once I did man is it fast and reliable. The receiver picks up the remote even when it's backwards all the way across my living room. Super responsive. The red light flashing on it is nice reassurance that it did send the signal it's like a confirmation that it can see the remote. The box has a blue light on it that flashes as-well to signal it went through. For anyone wondering each emitter plug has 2 emitters connected to it so I just put 2 on my receiver because I didn't want to seperate the wire. I will say even though I think the receiver is less attractive on this one, it works a lot better than the cable matters one did. Seriously there isn't a spot in my room where the remote isn't seen and before u had to be basically in front of the receiver to change the volume. The emitters are different too, they're actually meant for u to stick them on the surface of whatever device you're blasting. The adhesive has a little hole in the middle to let the light through. The cable matters one was meant to sit in front of the device and I think with how weak it was it would've never worked for me. Would absolutely recommend if u can get past the look of it because it's one of those things where it just works like you'd want when u pay a little more money. The box is so small too I'm sure you could fit it anywhere. I never write reviews but if you're on the fence of going cheap. Just don't and get this one because it actually works and won't waste your time.

Does everything it promises at a bargain basement price.
This IR System replaced an older set-up that eventually stopped working in my dedicated Home Theater. In my setup all electronic components, apart from the projector are hidden away in an adjacent utility room. Most of my components are easily accessible via a rack that is framed into the side wall. That rack has a custom, framed print that exactly covers the glass door of the rack thereby hiding all the equipment, including their status light from view, even when the room is darkened. I added this IR System to allow me to control the components which include a Marantz AV Receiver, external power amps, two UHD Blu Ray Players, an Apple TV 4K, Roku Ultra etc. I control all these components from my seated position with a single programmable, backlit IR Remote Controller. I prefer to point my universal remote at the screen as it is more comfortable & intuitive to use it that way, relying on the IR signal to reflect off the screen onto the IR receiver. My seating distance from the screen is about 8 1/2 ft, so the IR signal has to travel 17 ft in total, with some signal loss and diffusion from the screen surface. This cheap IR repeater system was installed in minutes and did everything I wanted, working flawlessly in my demanding environment. I didn’t bother reading the instructions as my previous IR system worked in much the same manner. I have to angle the IR repeater so that it faced the screen from it’s position on top of my rack on the right, center wall. I used some black gaffer’s tape to maintain the 45 degree angle to the rack framework. I’m not sure if it’s detailed in the instructions but the IR transmitters emit the IR signal through both their front & back surfaces. So for most of my shelves I just taped the transmitters to the shelf surface and let the signal spray the IR signal up to control multiple devices with a single emitter. The attached pictures should show the installation. Everything works perfectly although I will say that my Harmony Universal Remote does put out a very strong IR signal. As with my previous SmartHome system some of the manufacturers remote need to be a little closer to the screen to get reliable operation, but fortunately my Harmony Remote makes them redundant. Yes the Roku and Apple TV come with remotes that don’t rely on line of sight IR, but they’re not backlit and I hate having to swap remotes. For reference my previous IR system set me back over $100 but that was 20 years ago. Somehow, I don’t expect this device to last that long but I give it the highest possible rating.

Great Repeater
Been working beautifully so far! This is my first IR repeater and I wish I had gotten one sooner. This makes reaching my temperamental AV receiver SO easy. I love this thing.

It Works!
Great product that does as advertised, I would have given it five starts for its ease of use but couldn’t for two reasons: 1) Directions for setting up could be clearer and 2) the adhesive used to hold the sensor into place does not have a great hold. Really happy with how it performs though once set up.

When your remote cant reach the tv receiver when seated....this solves it!
This item works great! For me, I have a TV so large (75") and elevated above a fireplace mantel and the remote receiver is down in the corner and hard for my remote to reach it while I am seated. I hooked up this repeater close to the receiver and then put the repeater receiver located to the side of the mantel and voila! I can easily use the TV while seated or really anywhere now! I highly recommend it!

Works exactly like I expected
So the repeater does exactly what it is supposed to do. Everything you need to control up to 10 devices is included. 5 long transmitter cords that have two transmitters per plug, and one receiver plug. The enclosure is metal, heavy and solid. No worries about that. Each of the transmitter cords needs to be gently separated at the ends to reach each device. Didn't end up with any broken wires. I did have one instance where the adhesive on one of the transmitters didn't initially stick to the blu-ray player, but I re-applied it with pressure for about a minute and it hasn't come free again. I've currently got it repeating to my audio system, blu-ray player, HDMI switch, and TV. So it has way more capacity than I currently need, but the price was right. I would have liked a longer AC cord, the included one is barely 3 feet. I would also have liked if rubber feet had been included in the packaging as the metal slides around easily on the glass shelf. But these are both minor issues. If I had to do it over I'd get this unit again. It's filling the need perfectly.

Update: Product Failed. An Excellent Product...one minor hiccup in shipping of contents as described
The review below was posted last night after a successful installation. HOWEVER, the unit failed today and no amount of trouble shooting will resurrect it. Unfortunately, I will have to return it!! I have written to the sender/distributor in hopes they can provide additional trouble shooting steps. Otherwise, I will return the product at the end of the week. I note one other user reported a failure today as well. Worked right out of the box and worked well. Two observations: 1) As others commented, the receiver cable is too short for most applications and I urge the manufacturer to reconsider that. I should have paid more attention to the length when ordering because now I WILL have to order an extension. 2) While the system worked quite well and I'm pleased with it. However, I have noted for the seller that there were only 4 emitters in the box and there was suppose to be 5. Right now, I don't need the 5th and may never need it, but I do feel the seller should send the additional emitter in case I do need it in the future. I will note it here as to whether the seller does or not. I saw no way to contact them directly...so I posted it in the shipping comments.

Serious deficiencies
The box the beast is built in is pretty impressive! There, the positive impression ends, though. For one, the frequency band that it will receive is wider than the band it can transmit. This isn't mentioned anywhere in the product description, but is clearly stated in the manual. Second, the adhesive pads don't stick. They all fell off - receiver and transmitters - after less than 24 hours. Yes, I can understand that you don't want something permanent, but this is unacceptable. I ended up punching a hole in a 3M Command tape to mount them. As mentioned elsewhere, the transmission of the signal to the receiving device is truly hit or miss. Sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. This could be because the receiver aperture is too narrow or too deep, narrowing the receiving width causing it to require dead-on precision with your remote, or, more likely: poorly-copied intellectual property. A lot of latency between button push and signal transmission. If you're too fast on the trigger (like: if you push buttons on the remote faster than a blind person just learning how to use on would), it misses the button press. Finally: what idiot thought it would be a good idea to package two transmitters on a single plug? I'll try this a bit longer, but am pretty sure it's going back to Amazon - it's kind of a "range extender that isn't" due to all of its performance issues.

Great product! Works as intended and even more than expected
Bought this for sending signal to devices in a closed cabinet without any glass (a Yamaha A/V receiver and an Oppo bluray player). Set up easy and straightforward. The receiver is installed 12 feet in front a our normal seating places and works flawlessly (but the remote has to be directed directly toward the receiver, so it's less forgiving than using your remote on your devices). At first, installed with the IR emitters sticked on the IR "eye" of the devices and worked with no issues. Those wired emitters have a 3.5 mm jack to be plugged in the IR repeater and I noticed that in the back of my bluray player and my Yamaha receiver there was a 3.5 mm input plug for "IR signal". So I plugged the IR repeater directly to the back of my devices with a 3.5 mm stereo audio cable and it worked wonderfully!!! Does make a cleaner install. I read in other reviews that it should not work like that but for my devices, it works. The IR repeater is now plugged in my devices IR signal input. Great buy! No regrets. Works better than initially expected!

No funciona para tv mayor a 75 pulgadas
No funciona con un cable receptor corto, queda atrás de tv y no percibe señal

Easy to install and works great
It’s easy to install and works well. I used a headphone extension cable to make the IR sensor cable longer. I love the option to use a USB power supply rather than the included power supply as it does not appear to be CSA approved.

Awesome
Works great! I was able to hide everything in a closed cabinet, and still control it with the remote.
