Good fit. You have to push a little harder for it to lock in place but that IMO means the seal is better. Makes the use a little inconvenient but I like the trade. The installation is simple as expected. And I've tried it after installation and functions like it should no on-off-on-off thing happening. Sucks, in a good way. Hah.

I have a Dyson V7 that I really like, but not too long ago the bin door clip broke on me and it would not stay shut. As you can see from my 1st photograph I had to “MacGyver“ it with a Velcro strip to make sure the door stayed closed while I vacuumed. In order to empty the bin, I would have to unattach the Velcro so the door would open and empty out. It was by chance that I found that the door was replaceable so I immediately ordered it. What a difference. I was able to get rid of the ugly Velcro strip and now have a functioning door again. I put it on immediately and easily and the new door offers a good seal so there is no loss of suction (photo 2&3). One thing I will say is that, when I need to open the door in order to empty out the dust, right now it takes a couple of sharp tugs for it to open. But I believe that with a little more use that door will open more easily.

So far so good. Was convinced the little plastic tabs were going to snap trying to get rid thing on (and the old one off), but it's now on and functioning. The seal does seem less tight along the rim, but the clasp that is on it is super tight. To the point where when you pull the release level up it barely wants to open. Have to use it to ascertain more, but for now it seems like it should work. For reference, I got it for the V8.

I first bought this replacement lid 15 months ago after the latch broke on the original. With almost daily use and emptying it about 400 times since then, the latch broke again in the same spot. I am pretty rough with closing it so I’d say that’s a good run for less than $10. I ordered it again and the video made it easy to replace.

Perfect snug fit for my V-6. Make sure you have a V-6, NOT V-7, etc. So glad I found this, and returned the one that didn't fit. Yes, it takes a tug and a yank to pop it into place, but even a senior can do it. Trust me!

Works perfect

Has been working well for over a week, will have to see if it lasts long. For now great for the price and has saved my Dyson.
