Knipex 12 62 180 7,09" Insulation Strippers

I was originally put off by my memories of the made for tv versions from the 2000's that fell apart after a few uses. This feels sturdy and has worked great for everything I've tried.

My husband got the biggest smile when he got this. He had always used cheapos and knockoffs...they broke, rusted or worked so poorly they were left in the toolbox in favor of a pocket knife. Now, I think he looks for wires to strip and fix just because the tool is so well made and works so well.

Automatically strips wires by cutting into and tearing off insulation without nicking the metal underneath. You can set the length of strip between 6 and 18 mm. This works in tight spaces where you can get pliers-type strippers in. Will strip wires from 24 to 10 ga. Doesn't work so well on teflon insulated wire. It seems to be made of some sturdy plastic and the handles are very comfortable to hold and operate the tool.

Nice and quality stripper tool. I think very suitable 16AWG to 10AWG wires.🤩

I have a few automatic insulation strippers of the type that when pressed the jaws open like a V where one side holds the wire and the other side strips the insulation. The problem with them is that it is almost impossible to strip only a small length of the insulation and the stripped length can vary from one use to the next. This is not the case with the Knipex insulation strippers. You can easily control exactly the length of insulation to remove, and it is so easy to use, and so much fun. Yes, they may be more expensive that the regular automatic strippers, but they are well worth the price.

Works great on a wide variety of wires. Expensive but totally worth it.

I recently worked on a hotel project. These strippers made all the difference! Easily stripped 12ga wire and allowed me to work in tight spaces that any other wire stripper would not allow me to do.

It strips single wires fine but any wires that have insulation around it, it doesn't strip well

Kablo kesme bölümü 4 mm kabloyu zorlanmadan kesiyor. Uzun süreli kullanımda da bir sıkıntı olacağını düşünmüyorum, ama bunu zaman göstgerecek.

Als ambitionierter Heimwerker, der aktuell die komplette Unterverteilung im Haus erneuert, war ich auf der Suche nach einer Abisolierzange, die nicht nur schnell, sondern vor allem materialschonend arbeitet. Nach mehreren Enttäuschungen mit günstigen Baumarkt-Modellen bin ich bei der Knipex gelandet. Hier ist meine Erfahrung nach ca. 500 Abisoliervorgängen (NYM und Litze). ​🛠️ Handhabung & Ergonomie ​Das erste, was auffällt, ist das geringe Gewicht bei gleichzeitig hoher Stabilität. Die Zange liegt durch die Mehrkomponenten-Griffe extrem sicher in der Hand. Auch nach mehreren Stunden Arbeit ermüdet die Hand nicht, da der Hebelmechanismus sehr leichtgängig eingestellt ist. ​⚡ Die Performance im Detail ​Das Herzstück ist die automatische Anpassung an den Kabelquerschnitt. ​Feine Litzen (0,2 mm²): Hier trennen viele Zangen oft einzelne Kupferdrähte mit ab. Die Knipex schneidet die Isolierung präzise ein, ohne die Seele auch nur zu berühren. ​Standard-Leitungen (1,5 - 2,5 mm²): Das ist der Sweetspot. Die Isolierung fliegt förmlich vom Draht. ​Große Querschnitte (bis 6 mm²): Selbst bei dickerer Isolierung greifen die Klemmbacken fest zu, ohne das Kabel zu quetschen. ​🔍 Besondere Features ​Der Längenanschlag: Er wirkt auf den ersten Blick simpel, ist aber goldwert, wenn man 20 Adern auf exakt die gleiche Länge für eine Reihenklemme vorbereiten muss. Er rastet sauber ein und verstellt sich nicht von selbst. ​Der Drahtschneider: Integriert an der Unterseite. Er schneidet bis 6 mm² Cu/Al butterweich. Man spart sich den ständigen Griff zum Seitenschneider. ​📐 Was könnte man verbessern? (Kritik auf hohem Niveau) ​Bei sehr zähen Gummileitungen (H07RN-F) stößt die Automatik systembedingt manchmal an ihre Grenzen, da das Material sehr elastisch ist. Hier muss man gelegentlich ein zweites Mal ansetzen. Für den beworbenen Bereich von 0,2-6 mm² Standard-PVC ist sie jedoch unschlagbar. ​✅ Fazit ​Der Preis ist im Vergleich zu No-Name-Produkten höher, aber wer einmal eine beschädigte Ader in einer tiefen Dose suchen musste, weiß, warum sich die Investition lohnt. Man kauft dieses Werkzeug wahrscheinlich nur einmal im Leben. ​Pro: ​Extrem präzise (keine Beschädigung der Leiter) ​Schnelles Arbeiten durch perfekten Auswurf der Isolierung ​Robuster Längenanschlag ​Ergonomisch top für längeres Arbeiten ​Contra: ​Anschaffungspreis (der sich durch Zeitersparnis amortisiert)
