USB Digital Voice Recorder 16GB U Flash Disk & MP3 Music Player & Dictaphone,with 16 GB Internal Memory Card

It works well, compact size, Mac compatible. I had a hard time deciding which recorder to get. I needed a compact size, that will easily fit in the pocket. I only found these less known brands or "no name" brands and it was difficult to ascertain which ones have fake reviews and which ones have valid complaints. I decided to pick this one because they seem to be trying at least to create a brand for themselves. I tested it for few hours of recording already and it picks up voice very well while in a jeans pocket. The best is if the person is right in front of you or if you speak. Few feet away and the recording may be a little faint, unless the person speaks up (such as someone speaking in front of an audience). So for most purposes this should be perfect. The rustling noise from being in a pocket, very manageable, not too bad. No significant background noise whatsoever. A 3.5 hour recording generated a 200 MB file, so the 16 GB will be enough for lots and lots of hours (roughly 240 hours). I did not test the battery, however it lasted the 3.5 hours continuous recording. I am currently a Mac only person so this device IS MAC COMPATIBLE, despite some other reviewers comments. What is not "out of the box" Mac compatible is the file format that it generates. They are .WAV files which are native on Windows machines. However, I already had installed VLC player on my Mac, which is free, open source player that can play a multiple of video and audio files and I was able to play the recordings without a problem. I did not find yet another software that I like in order to process, maybe convert the files, however for basic function this works. Now are there better recorders or cheaper recorders out there? Very possibly so. If Olympus would have made a similar format recorder I may have purchased that one, however they don't, their recorders are either much wider or much longer. This one deserves a full rating because it does what it claims to and the price is very reasonable.

The recording capability of this device is very good as is the playback sound. For all practical purposes, there are no useful instructions included with the device nor have I been able to locate any online. What I have found online is in Chinese except for headings. If you can pause playback, I haven't been able to figure it out and haven't managed to reset it so that I can use it again, making it into a one time use tool.

I got this item today, so I'll let you know if it can get a better then one star... I can't change the date, it's difficult to operate... I want to record and at time I'm not sure if I am. I just need something simple to do my journal, like my last voice recorder... it was simple and easy to operate, and it gave me the option to update the date. I could hold if it was in my pocket... now this device is something else... what was I thinking, the price should not be so high, but I guess the quality gives it... either way, not worth this kind of headache, if you need something that you can update the date and so forth, because it only has rec, off and play. Yeah, and instructions are not the best. 5/24/17 After having this device for a couple of months... it's not able to read in my computer anymore, and I tried so hard give this device time to fix itself. I would give this device a negative number if possible, just save your money, because this is a scam in my opinion. Good luck if you bought it and avoid the headache if you wanting to buy it.

It can't play back the files it records! It uses ADPCM which compresses the audio at about 3 times more efficiency than FLAC, but not all players/software can handle the format, including it's own playback function which handles *MP3 only* This recorder only records with a 15kHz sampling rate. It's perfectly fine for voice, but if you're wanting a recording rich in high frequencies such as nature recording, this one will underperform.

I bought it to be able to record (short) audio note, but the interface does not make this task easy. I will continue to look for an appropriate one (Sony Walkman used to be, but Sony discontinued the recording ability of its walkmans :( )

Amazing that something so tiny works so well! It picks up clearly from 10 feet away and is super easy to get recordings off it and into a computer. There's a bit of a learning curve with the buttons as the instructions aren't super clear and primarily in Chinese, but mess with it a little and use headphones to make sure you understand and you'll be fine.

Playback quality is excellent. However, the device its easy to fall apart. The headphones does not fit the regular headphone size plugs so you have to use the headphones that they give you with the device. It stops working after a few months, so I had to fix it a couple of times.

DO NOT BUY. If I could I would give this zero stars. It did not work and would not upload the files to my laptop. Also one of the stupid songs that comes preloaded cannot be deleted from my iTunes at all. Extremely disappointed.
