Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold ITX SFF Power Supply, PCIe 5.1 Ready White

Perfect little 850 watt power supply available in both black and white. Everything works great and there is also a flange to attached to your computer if the cutout is for a full size PSU. The only issue we had was since this is a power supply for SFX, therefore small units, the cables are somewhat shorter than we needed in several cases. Easily solved with one of the extension wire kits available from several manufacturers; but some of the new small cases out need you to be creative in running your cables and that may cause them to need additional length.

The first unit I got has big noise/ coil whine when under load. After a replacement, all problems are fixed. Highly recommend for an itx build if 750w can’t satisfy you.

Nice looking PSU, but unfortunately receiving a new PSU in a still wrapped box just for it to be dead on arrival really made me decide to not get this brand, I understand mistakes happen but a big brand name as Cooler Master to send a dead psu in new packaging is just disappointing.

This PSU provides plenty of power for a demanding mini-ITX build. I'm running an i7-13700K and an RTX 3080 in an 11.9-liter system, and it handles both without issue. It fits well in the PC-Cooler K101 case. I bought the white version because it was cheaper. Once it's installed, the PSU is hidden inside the case, so the color makes no difference to the look of the build. The included native 12V high-power cable for newer GPUs is a nice touch. I didn't need it, since my 3080 runs fine on two separate 8-pin PCIe cables. The unit also auto-switches input voltage, so it works in India as well. One caveat: in one case, it seemed to trip the circuit breaker in a newer apartment. This may depend on the building's wiring or breaker sensitivity, so it's worth keeping in mind.

This review solely focuses on the design oversights of this psu, not the quality of the psu itself. I'm pissed off and need to rant. First of all, the 12v 6x2 cable it comes with has a downward-facing 90° connector on one side. This would be a positive if ALMOST EVERY SFF GPU DIDNT HAVE A RECESSED POWER CONNECTOR. So you can't use the connector on the gpu side, so let's use it on the psu side! Right?? Wrong! They chose to orient the connector on the psu so the 90° connector would completely block two of the pcie/cpu ports. I've never seen such a bad attempt at "convenience" in my entire life. 2nd issue is the 24pin cable. Like most psu's, there's a single 24 pin connector for the motherboard that splits into two connectors for the psu. But instead of both of the psu-side connectors oriented in the same direction, they are oriented in opposite directions. WITH A FLAT FRICKIN CABLE. So you have to forcefully twist one of the connectors 180° with almost no slack on a stiff AF flat cable. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F***. 3rd issue is just the cables themselves. I heard they were terrible but JFC. What is it with sff psu's and these god awful stiff and flat cables?? Be prepared to fork up $100-$200 extra for custom cables and waiting 6-8 weeks to get them. Normally I would just return it and find something else, but nobody else makes an 850w white sfx atx-3.1 psu, so I'm stuck with this moronic garbage. PLEASE SEND HELP.

Use this for the Lian li air mini Even though the case can fit ATX size. Didn’t want to deal with cord management or spending extra money on a custom cables so got this instead. No issues remember is a small form factor pushing 850 watts so it has some noise

I had 2 corsair sf 850s, both had pretty bad coil whine and electrical interference. So i bought a different brand, this cooler master sfx model. No coil whine or electrical interference. cables are a little stiff at first but get better after you bend them around a bit. The fan can stay on for a while after a workload but its at a noise volume and frequency where its pretty acceptable. Giving it full stars. Good job CM.

Great psu, running a 4090 and 7800x3d on this with a 240mm aio and a case fan, all rgb and holds up just fine
