Bird Log Kids (Nature Journals)

Wonderful log book for children and adults too. My seven year old grandson is starting to fill in his third book. I gave him his first book last Christmas along with a bird feeder, bird seed and a bird book. Every week he was so excited to log in the new birds that came to his feeder. He has become a serious birder now, and has attended bird banding events and bird watching hikes. It has been a wonderful outdoor activity for the entire family. What began as a gift for him actually gave me a gift for life. At the age of 70, I'm noticing different birds and enjoying nature more the ever.

My niece loves it. It does have a lot of words and a lot of areas to write in, so it's maybe better for a kid who can read. Although my niece can't read yet she is still excited to draw in the different birds and it encouraged her to try to write words in order to fill in the blanks.

My 6 year old loves this. Each page has a list of questions like where you saw the bird, what was the season, etc. He is just learning to write and the amount of writing is just perfect. The questions are engaging. He's already logged several back yard birds. He likes looking at the tips and digrams in the book as well. It is very helpful to have a bird guide to go with this book as it doesn't contain pictures of birds. It's only designed to record info on birds already identified. We have one called "Backyard Birds" or something like that, which lists common species in various regions around the U.S,

I bought this for my 3 grandsons to begin their life list. One is especially happy to be able to list the details about the birds/ I am happy that this book encourages a kid to look for the identification differences rather than just list what bird he saw. It helps me to teach the beginning techniques of identifying birds.

Our 6 year old loves watching the birds outside our house but because we live in Hawaii, most logs and books cover birds we don't actually get here. Our six year old can easily read the fill ins & fill them in. It has a place for drawing the bird too. I was really pleased with this book and highly recommend it to anyone who has a first grader or up.

I got this for my 8 year old and it has been very useful, he uses it often. It is fun to write in all the details of every bird spotted and it also provides good questions to guide observations. I saw other bird logs for kids but this was definitely the best.

The Bird Log Book is an excellent way for kids to start enjoying watching birds and keeping track of which ones they see. I highly recommend it. I purchased it for a 9 yr old.

I know nothing about bird watching, but my kids wanted to give it a go. This book lets them take pictures and write descriptions, and we make up our own names sometimes. It gets them outside, it's an inexpensive hobby and they have a blast with their own journals that they'll have for years to come.

Very disappointing, I bought this for my granddaughter to use but it would soon fill up as each bird found has 2 pages to fill up with where and when seen etc so quite impractical. Its a shame as I thought this would be great.
