Can anyone confirm this has improved their lawn after using? I’ve got clay soil and I’m hoping it will improve water drainage. Thanks

Yes it will improve the grass BUT it’s best to aerate it quite a lot, pick up ALL of the cylindrical clay soil plugs, discard them, and then overdressing/levelling with a good quality top dressing which is 70-80% very fine sand.

Great tool as you say....I used mine on two lawns last October...One a standard lawn and one meadow turf...I let the cores lay in both lawns over the winter and they gradually dispersed over time..Come spring unwanted flowers appeared on the standard lawn which I assume we're dormant seeds brought to the surface and then being activated...Therefore if you want a pristine lawn and are not sure what was previously growing there maybe removing the cores could be the best option...otherwise let them lay and rake in as fertiliser.....

I would recommend the core aerator as it will work better than a spike. Just leave the fores on the grass for a few days then now the lawn as its great top soil.
