Delicious bread from reliable flour!
I bake all of our bread and after trying Wessex Mill flour I was impressed by the flavour, texture and rise of my loaves. This flour mixes well with other bread flours, such as wholemeal to create a delicious loaf of bread. Iโve even managed to reduce the amount of yeast needed as the bread rises so well. A great product that works out cheaper than buying small bags.

Not consistently good
Iโve used this before and it was fine but all my loaves on this latest batch are not rising properly (brick shaped). I will not use this company again. I filter my water and use exact digital measuring scales for all my ingredients with my Panasonic bread maker. The only thing thatโs changed is the flour. Iโm guessing they must have a poor QA process for ensuring the flour is consistently good or they just donโt care. My guess is the protein is lower in this than you would expect for bread making flour. :-(

Buy the flour its great... buy the 1.5 kg bags rather than the sack though....
I KNOW the flour is of excellent quality because I have bought the 1.5 kg bags before but the 16kg sack is badly packed and arrived in a damaged box with punctured sack. Amazon were really good and dealt with the problem very promptly.

Don't rush it.
I wasn't happy with this flour at first, then again ive only been making my own bread for a year now. But I changed my bread making habits. It needs more time to mix and rise. Then I knead it for 8+ mins and let it rise, Then knead it lightly again and rise. Really nice flavour and a nice crust.

Damaged bag
The bag was split and the flour came out of the bag into the carton box. The box was very weak one. The delivery is fast.
