Best Robot Vacuum I've Had
Was a little dubious buying this after past experiences with robot vacuums. Most I'd had in the past were dumb navigation, bouncing around the room noisily and hopefully getting most things whilst getting their brushes so stuck together with hair they needed maintenance after each run. Kinda defeated the point there. This product however has been a pleasant surprise. Smart navigation makes all the difference really. It cleans in nice rows and gets every corner. Can even see in the app afterward if it did miss anywhere. The floorplan it generated for my home is accurate and has only gotten better after subsequent runs. The machine is also quieter than I'm used to and, whilst not having the best suction, is evidently picking up the vast majority in carpet and basically everything on hard floors. Very impressed so far. The obstacle avoidance feature on this model is very cool. Seeing it avoid driving over cables or around obstacles without hitting them makes me a lot more confident to run this when I'm not at home. I don't have a pet so I can't tell you if it's good at avoiding poop, but fairly sure iRobot replace it for free if it doesn't so probably doesn't matter! The new base is also great. It is very compact compared to the older models, much shorter and much more aesthetically appealing in my opinion. The base is also very powerful and has emptied the vacuum every time completely. Never had any blockages or other issues. The bags also last for ages so rarely need replacing. Would definitely recommend this for anyone needing a robot vacuum that has been burned before by cheaper/older options. It's expensive but worth it.

Time consuming
High maintenance, needs constant attention whether it’s removing all rugs, chairs etc so doesn’t get caught up in them, or frequently emptying bin when on different floor to base, removing fluff from rollers etc. but I got used to it and didn’t mind too much, we came to think of it like a naughty puppy, but less fun. Cleaned reasonably well but often had to set it going twice to get a good job done, and have to pick up larger pieces of debris that get flicked around and fluff that gets rolled along and left in carpets and bits round the room edges it can’t reach. Only other downsides the bags for base are expensive and fill quickly, and it is VERY noisy when returns to base and empties. Then it became even higher maintenance, constantly cleaning sensors and removing and replacing battery etc, after 3 months of use the faults got worse, initially iRobot customer service helpful but when problems couldn’t be easily resolved they just told me I purchased from Amazon so have to deal with them. Luckily Amazon happy to return. Multiple friends have recommend eufy so might look at them instead.

Good, but not great
Great at being smart, it can locate rooms easily and clean where needed. Suction: cleans up crumbs and hair easily, but swiffering after it, leaves the swifter cloth dirty with dust. So it doesn’t really take up the smallest dust particles. With a 70sqm flat it needs to stop and recharge for 30’ before finishing a full clean(and the battery is 1 month old!). Smart: when it goes around the table with 4 legs and 4 chairs, it seems to lose direction and ends up going around the same spots multiple times. I drew the rooms delimiters, but it often goes over it and cleans a few meters of the wrong room. It can’t handle doors, they totally freak him out when left half open. It’s great at avoiding cables and other objects, but doesn’t like letters(dropped on the floor from the postbox on the door.) we find letters munched up and dragged across rooms. Summary: good for daily cleanup, but don’t count much on its brain. For thorough clean and hygiene, I recommend the Dyson.

The worst useless stupid device
This machine is absolutely categorically useless. Product support are not helping at all. For past 3 months it has not completed one single cleaning run. It gets stuck, spins around, gets lost, and complains constantly bin is full (it isn't, as its not cleaning, so how could it be), and now latest its 'unable to connect' to base. Support always says we need to change place, do more runs, more tweaks, but they cannot explain its claiming bin is full and its not charging. Its all about placement apparently. Its absolute nonsense. It also hits objects, pushes them along its path. Its never getting itself docked properly, and even if you carry it in, whuch you tend to do as its just randomly running out of battery, at least its not able to charge itself aftee. That said, even if it was, that would only prolong our suffering. The device is clearly faulty, but we don't get any support. Its always a weeks wait to get repeated same useless details. Its akways our fault. Avoid this device, avoid Roomba, avoid anything to do with these people.

A step in the right direction
I've had this Roomba for a little over 2 weeks now, with it being my first ever Robot vacuum. I also had the Roomba S9+ to compare it to for testing which allowed me to make a better decision. It was a very hard decision to choose between the two: S9+ - Amazing suction power - Carpet detection for turbo boost cleaning - 3D laser mapping - Ceiling pointed camera - Dual brush design - Corner/Edge cleaning with a larger brush - High price point - 3 years old J7+ - 2021 Release - Newer AI technology - Front facing camera for obstacle detection - Torch/Flash in the front for better navigation - Dual brush design - No carpet boost functionality - Cooler looking self emptying bin **Setup** Both robot's were extremely easy to set up and I was connected via the application in about 5 minutes. Once set up you're given the opportunity to start a mapping running to allow the vacuum to get an idea of your house and allow you to label rooms. Now, I would recommend the robot to be fully charged before you start mapping the house, it's very exciting to see the first run around the house but you don't want to have to cut things short because it has to go back to the base to start charging. Before you start, I would recommend picking anything and everything off the floor so the map can build an edge to edge view of the house. The J7+ performed the mapping running the fastest and also produced an accurate representation of the bottom floor of my house with only 2 mapping runs (I would recommend mapping runs to start with as a clean&map can take much longer and use more battery). The S9+ achieved this within 3 runs. Being able to label rooms and zones within the house was very nice to see allowed greater control on areas that I don't want the Robot to clean. **Obstacle Detection** This is where the J7+ shines, thanks to the new AI built in to the robot, it can navigate around obstacles such as pet feaces (Roomba also have a guarantee on this) and charging cables/cords - more items will be detected in future updates once the catalogue updates with everyone's submissions. When the J7 detects something in front of it, big or small, it will stop and take a picture which you can review in the app after the cleaning run. You can then define what the obstacle is and whether it would be a temporary obstacle such as a pair of shoes on the floor or a power cable or a "keep out zone" where you have installed a new piece of furniture that occupies space that no longer needs cleaning. It did an excellent job with slippers and all sorts of obstacles and I was left at ease without having to think that I needed to tidy all parts of the floor before the vacuum can start cleaning. The S9+ has recently received obstacle detection but it is not as intuitive as the J7+ and can only detect larger obstacles such as furniture due to the upwards firing camera on the S9+. The S9 would drag charging cables and paper along the floor without knowing it is doing so. **Cleaning Ability** I have a mix of tiled, laminate and carpeted floors on the ground floor of my house which gives it a good testing ground for the Roomba. I found the S9+ to have better cleaning ability as it could navigate to the corners of the room and suck up dirt with it's more powerful suction. The J7+ is super quiet on carpet when compared to the S9+ which will make you think that it's actually not cleaning anything in the first place - actually with the dual roller design (both models have this), the J7 was able to pick up any mess off the carpet with ease - although, not as thorough as the S9+. This wouldn't be an issue if you're planning to use the J7+ to vacuum every couple of days. **Navigating** I found the J7+ to clean without any issues around the house and was able to follow the map without issue, however, the S9+ did tend to veer off its course every now and again, especially when it detects an obstacle that shouldn't be there. Both vacuum's drive around and hit in to edges of walls and furniture, after a few runs they will start to tap edges rather than ram themselves in to them. **Emptying** Both the J7+ and S9+ have self emptying stations but I find the J7+ base much more modern and sleek looking. Both use a bagged design and store up to 60 days worth of dirt, which I've yet to reach and test is true. The J7's cleaning base sounds much louder than the S9+ but this is only for a short burst. The J7 also navigates and docks via a QR code which is read by the front facing camera whereas the S9+ uses its mapped model to navigate. **Beta Program** Both vacuum's have a beta program to introduce new and upcoming features that you can be an early tester of. As of writing the following features are available in the beta J7+ - Do Not Disturb S9+ - Do Not Disturb - Carpet Detection on the Smart Map **Conclusion** After a few days of testing both I ended up going for the J7+, the main reasons for this decision are - Cheaper price point (I would save £400) - Performs just as well as the S9+ in every day scenarios - The obstacle detection is a lifesaver - Future proof as it's only just released - Front light allows the Roomba to clean in the dark better than the S9+ Why didn't I give it a 5* rating? Well what I would like to see is the suction power of the S9+ and the corner cleaning brought in to the J7+ but I guess this unit is more comparable to the i7+ vacuum. At this time I'm happy with the J7+ and would welcome an upgraded J9+ if that were to release. **Sidenotes** - As you may have read in other reviews, I opted to stick felt pads on the bumper of the J7+ this would stop scuffs from building on the Roomba and your furniture. It also provides less of a "bang" sound when cleaning and hitting in to walls.

Connectivity Is A Breeze
As you may have read elsewhere we have had two previous robot cleaners that did not hit the mark or anywhere close for that matter. The Lasare L6 Pro cleaned ok but wouldn't connect to the phone app and the Honiture Q6 Pro packed up emptying after 3 days and it also wouldn't connect to the app. So now we come to the Roomba J7+ this is Marvin 3.0 as we call him. Firstly at the first attempt it connected to the exact same network the previous two couldn't. I left it to charge fully and then set it off on a mapping run. I cleared the regular obstacles and let Marvin do his thing. Headlight on off he toodled. Now I have the app connected, I set him to clean the downstairs daily. He has done this with aplomb. When he returns to his docking station and empties, the noise is as loud as any ordinary vacuum, albeit it's only for about 30 seconds. While he hoovers the noise is barely intrusive. The double rollers are a plus especially with the pet hair of our two dogs. Whilst you pay considerably more for the Roomba compared to the other two it does exactly what it says on the tin. I've also set it up on Alexa too. This isn't the best skill yet but it does work. My experience of the previous contenders was far from the case. I haven't had a need to contact Customer Service as so far there is no need but I'm pretty confident these guys would respond unlike the other two. In essence you get what you pay for. If you want something that is a breeze to connect and use then the Roomba is our choice. Also a point to note is that the Roomba is compatible with both WiFi frequencies so if you have a 5mhz network it doesn't matter, unlike the majority of other robots out there. This was my main reason to buy the Roomba but I needn't have worried as it connected to the 2.4 just fine.

I am very Happy with it
I am very happy with j7+ iRobot, very very Smart, it clean perfectly, mapping the floor plan very smart and accurate, clean everywhere, I have high pie carpet you can see in picture and she clean it very well, it will do her job without need of supervise, every few days I will remove the long hairs stuck in rollers. It detect wires and obstacles, only stuck somewhere once and never happened again, in overall I am very happy, she is very smart, do the job alone and it’s pretty quiet, battery life is not great but doesn’t matter as she come back to base and after an hour recharge she will continue from where she left and clean the rest, very good app and you can track everything and where she cleaned and floor map on the app. Easy setup, and really keep the flat always clean, I wish she could do more things and wash the dishes too lol.

A bit of a clumsy thug when compared to my Ecovacs, Battery life is poor and it squeals and squeaks
I returned my Ecovacs DEEBOT N8+ and spent significantly more money on this iRobot® Roomba® j7+ model To be honest in comparison to the Ecovacs, this robot is clumsy, nowhere near as intelligent, the battery life is poor in comparison and on our vinyl floor, it's rubber pickup cylinders squeak everywhere it goes! The robot is only a few days into it's life with us and in addition to the pickup rollers squeaking, the wheels that drive the robot around are now whining away as well. I do have the Ecovacs DEEBOT N8+ which helps a lot to have a measure of good and bad points to compare without being unreasonable. One point that has become clear, and I warn prospective purchasers of the robovacs, don't take too much notice of all the YouTube reviews. Yes they help, but their neat little square test pens are no match for a real house. This robot bangs and bumps around mapping the house and has often failed to cover a simple room like our bathroom. It only found half the room and then you have to re run the mapping procedure. Unlike the Ecovacs DEEBOT N8+ this vacuum has frequently got stuck on edges of carpets and even wedged itself under the sofa twice. I read one review on Amazon that advised felt pads on this model! I now see why. It is so clumsy bashing it's way around the house I can see the skirting getting damaged over time. For the extra several hundred pounds I am dissapointed and considering return... After some more use I will be returning this expensive gadget. I returned my Ecovacs N9+ as it stopped working and decided an extra £300 would be the solution. I was wrong. This model needs 3 charges to clean the floor whereas the Eciovacs N8+ did the whole job easily in one pass. My iRobot® Roomba® j7+ is so noisy on our flooring and the additional squeak from the wheel drive is getting worse. See the video evidence. It sqeals away on the floor surface but now sounds like an unoiled garden wheelbarrow as the drive wheels have an internal mechanical problem.

Gets the job done
Pros: 1. The self emptying option ensures I don't have to worry about the bin being full 2. Decent obstacle avoidance. Avoids running over wires, shoes etc. 3. The mapping quality is good 4. Docks on its own when running out of battery power Cons: 1. The sound while emptying the bin is too loud. 2. It detects the obstacles only in it's line of sight. A LIDAR would have done much better 4. Sometimes has trouble in docking. 3. Too costly in India. Much cheaper in the US. 4. Also the accessories are costly as well.

Favoloso

I övrigt bra styrning via utmärkt app.
