I met Ben Hogan when I was 16. POWER GOLF is a straight forward and basic instruction. Mr.Hogan was a straight forward man!

#1 Swing Instruction Book
Hogan won 48 times before the accident in spite of the garbage spewed by Golfchannel. He changed his swing in 5 Lessons to encourage a fade. Hogan himself said he was better before. The only thing missing is Hogan describing the left hip being pulled down the target line to start the downswing. This was my bible 55 years ago. Too bad I wasted thousands learning how not to hit the ball later in life. I'm back outdriving guys 30 years younger. Thanks Ben!

Definitely worth adding to your library...
Okay, it's not in the same league as 5 lessons, but it's still a good read. Definitely worth adding to your golf library. Wishing for a digital version, but for now, paperback will be fine. Get it and improve your long game.

follow up to Five Lessons
... even though it was written before Hogan's "Five Lessons." Power Golf addresses some issues that Five Lessons does not, like putting and sandplay, for example. However, in my opinion it would be advisable to digest Five Lessons first, and then open up your game with Power Golf, in that order. Five Lessons will instruct and help you discipline yourself on the fundamental swing, and Power Golf will liberate you further. Myself, I was reassured by Hogan in Power Golf when he gave me permission to "go ahead and hit it as hard as you can" when it comes to the driver... he says you might be a little wild at first, but once you "groove your swing," you'll be glad you've been swinging with power because that's the point of a driver... I had always been a little hesitant to let it rip, but now I've been smacking it but good! Thanks again, Mr. Hogan.

Si il y avait UN seul livre ร avoir sur la technique du swing c'est celui lร . Ben Hogan a jetรฉ les fondements du golf moderne et ร la lecture des revues spรฉcialisรฉes aujourd'hui , il est amusant de constater le nombre de coach, pros qui vous donnent des conseils qui ne sont rien de plus que ceux enseignรฉs par Ben Hogan il y a 50 ans !! Donc pour tous ceux qui veulent avoir un swing digne d'un golfeur sรฉrieux et passionnรฉ , potassez le Ben Hogan et vous trouverez la "voie" !

Power Golf describes Hogan's Pre-Secret swing
Hogan wrote this book before he discovered his Secret, but he was already a world class golfer by then and had won several tournaments. So this book is a guide to Hogan's Pre-Secret swing. Hogan therefore found it necessary to write Five Lessons later in 1957 because Power Golf did not describe the swing that made Hogan the greatest ball-striker of all time. Power Golf is an important book in the library for Hogan fans, but it is not the definitive Post-Secret Hogan swing.
