Outstanding experience!!!
I am not normally moved to write product reviews, but I had to take the the time to do so here. I am a self-employed IT Support guy, 35 years in the Service and Support business, 25 as an Independent. I have a well established base of small business clients. This product was a screaming success I felt compelled to share my experience. This is not intended to delve into all of the technical aspects of this specific product, or mesh networks in general vs. traditional WiFi implementations - it is just a practical, pragmatic review of my experience with the first installation I just completed two weeks ago.One of my clients is a couple who are retired CEO's, very well-to-do, and very politically active. Their home is 12,500 square feet, and we have been dealing with all of the traditional problems with trying to provide reliable Wireless access throughout the home. Up until the Amplifi installation, we were doing this with a traditional consumer grade WiFi router, one additional wired router configured in AP Mode, and a wireless extender, all scattered throughout the house. The problems were the typical ones: inadequate signal coverage in places, slow connections, dropped connections, devices not accepting client connections and having to be restarted (power cycled) frequently etc. They have been after me for some time to "upgrade" them to something that worked better. I had done some research, the "mesh" networks looked attractive, but in reading reviews, I just couldn't decide which way to go - it seemed like every option included some potential drawback, and if you went one way, you were compromising some other aspect of performance, and the marketing just seemed it like it was over the top - I was very skeptical about what was being claimed.I ended up deciding to try the AmpliFi LR system (price was definitely a factor - it was less expensive that most of the other options, and let's face it - I don't do this for free - I needed to be able to make a reasonable margin on the installation). I also purchased one additional Mesh Point HD antenna just because of the size of the house to give me a margin of safety with the signal coverage.I setup the equipment in the shop just to get familiar with everything before I went on site. It could not have been simpler - the Amplifi App is simplistic, and you definitely do not need to be a "network technician" to setup this hardware.I went on-site and used the Ekahu free software on my laptop to generate a heatmap of the existing WiFi coverage before installation. I then tool all of the existing equipment down, and installed the pre-configured AmpliFi hardware. I then located the AmpliFi antenna's where I thought would be best - and used the App to verify signal strength. I made some minor adjustments to locations, and that was that. I then did another heatmap and verified that the signal coverage was improved, strong, and everywhere! We did a quick test with their devices, and everything looked great... they were thrilled.Fast forward two weeks - I spoke with them today on another matter and asked how the wireless was going... She was literally exuberant and ecstatic!! She told me that they had had 110 people at their house for that weekend!! Some type of political gathering - all on their laptops, cell phones, and tablets from Friday afternoon through Sunday, and the wireless had been flawless. Signal everywhere, everybody able to connect without problem, no drops, fast, and they haven’t had to power cycle a thing since installation. Could not have been a better review from the end user.I can't imagine a better stress test in a home, or even most small business environments, and the AmpliFi product was perfect. I can't imagine based on this experience how somebody could install this in their home and not be pleased with the result.I will absolutely have no hesitation in using the AmpliFi mesh network product again - it performed beautifully for me and my end user!

Works great... after a firm-ware update
This is a tale of two reviews, pre-firmware upgrade and post. Pre-firmware update I was ready to send it back. I live in an older 3100 square foot house that is a tough customer for wi-fi. I had a single router before and I couldn't get a signal in the room next to the one with the router. So I knew I would have to spend some money to get a system that would fill my needs. I am a cord cutter and I need a stable, strong wi-fi system. The setup was a breeze, download the app, and just follow all the instructions. It really couldn't of been easier. I tinkered with the placement of the small extenders, since I couldn't get a 5 GHz back-end connection to the one. But I was able to get a good signal to all and was satisfied with my initial performance.I have lots of devices, probably 11. And for a while at least this did great. But then I started to get interruptions. If you were looking at the main display it would say no internet connection. If you were on the app and doing the diagnostic scan, it would say no IP address from the cable modem. If you sat there and hit refresh constantly it would go in and out. I would typically have to re-start everything and it would go back to normal for a while until it did it again. This frustrated me and ticked my wife off since she always seemed to be in the middle of a show when it did it. I was really close to sending it back. Then I did a firmware upgrade. And luckily, I haven't seen that issue since. All I have gotten is good solid performance that is easily running an older large house that cut the cord. So that makes me happy. And I love the app and the controls it gives you. At any moment, from my phone, I can cut the internet to any of the devices connected. Which is great when my 5 year old son wants to watch YouTube videos at 6 AM even though he isn't allowed screen time during the week. I tell my kids I am the keeper of the internet and I have all the power. Fear me.

Good device
Setup was a little confusing at first because you need to use an App on your mobile device.Once set into bridge mode it removes the possibility of having a guest network, which I find a little odd, but beyond that this has been working like a charm and is providing excellent WIFI coverage to the entire house across 3 floors.

This product is great and works as advertised
Product arrived in a beautiful box, well packaged and protected. Reminded me of buying an iPhone. I'm a technical guy, but this thing was so easy to set up and use that even a WIFI newbie could do it. I downloaded the app on my iPhone and followed the step by step instructions. Hardest thing was turning off the WIFI radio on my ISP router as I couldn't remember the password. The product is great and performs well. The app is very intuitive and shows you by connected device the download speeds which is neat. I can also block internet on all devices, a single device or group devices together (i.e. kids) and automatically turn the WIFI off at night and re-enable in the morning, which is something I didn't know when I purchased it.WIFI is definitely better in my house after 4 days of use. Early days, but I would say that while this product is not cheap if you want a good, stable, easy to use WIFI solution for a large or multi-level house this is a great solution for you. Would highly recommend.

Great Wifi for large homes
This product just arrived today. I have been trying to get this for several months as the wifi in the far ends of my house is poor. Within 10 minutes I had the best wifi service I have ever had anywhere. Absolutely happy. I have had all kinds of extenders, but nothing close to how good this problem it. You get what you pay for!
