Definitely used, but fully functional
I'm completely satisfied with the product. I received exactly what I ordered. I really like the price I paid and the 1 year warranty. The device is clearly used, but I totally expected that. Performance is fine; just what I expected. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase and would buy it again. On to 2 minor nits: First, it arrived in 3 layers of bubble wrap packaging. It was fine, but usually items like this are shipped in boxes. With the great warranty, I really don't see a problem, but thought I'd mention it since it was a bit unusual. Of course, that's probably part of how they keep the costs down. Second, it came with basicly just a sheet giving you a phone number to call if you need support; no installation instructions. I really didn't need instructions but if someone was expecting the "full package" of documentation, then they'd have been disappointed. For me, I was buying an exact replacement device for something I already have so I was completely satisfied with the device and the lack of documentation. In summary, I was completely satisfied with the product and the seller and would buy it again. But clearly they keep their costs lower (which I like) by cutting a few corners when shipping and providing installation instructions.

Excellent working condition
Installed as soon as received. Checked by Century Link Technical Support and everything was working perfectly. No drops in DSL signal until now. I'm still having the slow downs but now I know they are produced by the Century Link signal: they are "spiking" purposely the download signal to a very high level and not the upload, producing a very bad result to the customer. I said purposely because they know what is happening but are using it to bait the customers to buy the new super high speed that is very expensive and unnecessary for me. What a shameful and greedy service!. I will post future reviews of the modem is they are necessary but for now everything is working perfectly. I consider it a good buy to avoid the $10.65 monthly rental fee from this greedy and corrupt company.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
PURCHASED THIS IN APRIL OF 2020. WAS SOLD AS NEW, HOWEVER WHEN IT ARRIVED IT WAS OBVIOUSLY REFURBISHED. EVERYTHING WAS JUST LOOSE IN THE BOX AND THE UNIT ITSELF HAD DISCOLORATION ON IT. KEPT IT AND HOOKED IT UP ANYWAY. WORKED GREAT FOR ABOUT A MONTH. KEPT DROPPING OUT. GOT CENTURY LINK TECH TO TROUBLE SHOOT. HAD ME RESET BY UNPLUGGING THE UNIT. THEN IT SHOWED IT WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. WAS ADVISED TO UNPLUG THE DSL LINE IN AND RE-PLUG IN AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS. THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. AFTER THAT PERIODICALLY I WOULD HAVE TO UNPLUG THE DSL AGAIN AND PLUG IT BACK IN, AS THE INTERNET KEPT DROPPING OUT. BY THE END OF JULY IT WOULD NOT CONNECT AT ALL. HAD CENTURY LINK TROUBLE SHOOT AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE UNIT. NOW USING MY OLD MODEM THAT DOES NOT EXTEND TO MY WHOLE HOUSE. WHICH IS WHY I PURCHASED THIS UNIT IN THE FIRST PLACE. EVEN THOUGH WAS SOLD WITH A 1 YEAR WARRANTY, HAVE NOT GOTTEN RESPONSE ABOUT WARRANTY. ONLY A MESSAGE ASKING WHY I KEPT THE UNIT IF I KNEW IT WAS NOT NEW AS ORDERED. TO WHICH MY RESPONSE WAS, "I NEEDED IT AND IT WORKED AT THE TIME." WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL OFFICE SUPPLIES OR ELECTRONICS DEALER FOR A BETTER OPTION. YOU MAY HAVE TO SPEND A LITTLE MORE, BUT AT LEAST IS WILL LAST LONGER THAN 4 MONTHS.

Great for use with mesh network
I purchased this to be used with a mesh network. The WiFi on this modem/router is weak and old technology. I went into router admin (see info on bottom of modem) and disabled the Wi-Fi feature. I just used the SSID for the mesh network. This arrangement provided excellent coverage, speed and stability. The combined cost of both the modem and mesh network was about $50 less than CenturyLink wanted for their DSL modem/router combo. Using just one SSID eliminated the Alexa echo issue with multi-room speaker configurations randomly changing from one SSID to another causing the multi-room speaker group to stop working. This arrangement allowed me to add inexpensive Ethernet switches to the mesh devices at needed locations. Bottom line: excellent for use with mesh network, but would not recommend if used by itself.

Easy to set up and use
I bought this modem/router the first time and it lasted for about a month. I was in the kitchen when I heard a loud pop from the modem. I assumed the storm caused a power surge. I then bought a more expensive ActionTech modem thinking it would be better. Well, I had to configure it and reboot it all the time and the internet was much slower than when I had the Technicolor C2000T. I sent that one back and purchased another Technicolor C2000T, which seems to provide the quickest and most reliable internet. I recommend using a power surge strip in order to avoid having your unit bite the dust prematurely. I live in a remote area with download speeds of 3mbps and I can stream Netflix with no interruption.

Good to get you going, but will not be supported for much longer.
Modem came loose in the box and as a result the power pack scratched the top. Not bad though. For the piece I paid. It's really simple you. You download CenturyLinks app put in your info. And they're multiple ways it can help you with that as well. Within I'd say 5 mins, or less if you even just a little tec savy. You up and going. 3 issues. One pretty big. One it's only single band 2.4. works fine here given we only get 1mb. another three haven't been a firmware update for a while now. And then apparently centurylink will drop this as being compostable real soon according to the site. Wish I would have known that first. But that's not too no fault of the seller. I received it quicker then I thought.

Happy Customer !
I had several choices of internet providers but after a great deal of research I went with CenturyLink because it is a dedicated connection and your not sharing mbps with your neighbors. I already owned several modems/routers but they were not compatible since this provider connects with a phone line. I was happy to find this router was available at a good price and installation was easy. Works better than expected !

Compatible with Windstream DSL!
Works great with Windstream (kinetic) here in central TX. The tech took a look and was unsure. We plugged it in and everything came to life with no hassle. The best part is avoiding the $9.99 per month lease charge for the Windstream supplied modem.
