Winds Vs Dead Cat = Dead Cat Wins After Some Sound Editing
I bought the dead cat for my Rode DDCGO DeadCat Go and it fitted all snuggly. It helps with the wind for sure, not sure about those 100mph + gusts of wind though so, if anyone got into that kind of environment, please let me know what was your experience. I use this mostly indoors next to my window on my workstation for vlogs. I also did used this on parties with loud DJ's the mic alone does a really good job but, this has helped it even more with crispy sounds. PROs: - Does what it is intended to do for the winds - Looks cool and literally looks like a dead cat Cons: - Calling it dead cat in public with cat lovers sounds like I offended them

Overall Great Product - Works as advertised
I was doing videography in a marina when I had enough of the foam cover included with my RodeGo Mic - voices were drowned out by the light breezes in the area. Used this for the first time today (against fair winds), and the difference is clear. With a snug fit, this dead cat feels secure on the mic and, when scrolling through the footage, found voices (standing about 5 feet away from these individuals) to be noticeably clearer. Overall great quality product! Would recommend to anyone with that $26 in their price range.

Expensive but it fits perfectly.
Official Rode product so it fit just fine. Expensive for what it is though!

Great Quality
Great quality and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I recorded my son's band playing outside with my Canon 80D with a RODE shotgun mic. I used the "Dead Cat" to quiet the wind. The cover not only quieted the wind but allowed the sound to be captured. It did its job and I'm glad I made the purchase. Note: Don't be in a huge hurry to get the cover. I think it took just over 2 weeks.

Works OK in breezy conditions
I use the Rode VideoMic Go that came with my Canon 80D Video Creator's Kit. The VideoMic Go ships with a foam mic cover with "RODE" written all over it. It doesn't work very well against the wind--so I bought this DeadCat. First I took off the RODE foam cover. Next I tried to slide on the DeadCat. However, it was a very tight fit. Initially, it seemed like I wouldn't be able to get it all the way on. Then I figured out that inside the DeadCat is a foam cover--the same as my original RODE foam cover (just without "RODE" written all over it). What was happening, was the foam cover was getting all squished inside the DeadCat when I was sliding it onto the mic--preventing me from getting it on all the way. I took the foam cover out from inside the DeadCat, and put it on the mic. Then I put the DeadCat on over the foam cover. It took some fiddling--but I eventually got it on. I took it to my kid's football practice, and shot some video with my Canon 80D. There was a 10-15mph breeze that day. In my video clips, I can hear some muffled wind noise, but overall, it's 90% better than shooting without the DeadCat. I recommend getting this if you've got the Rode VideoMic Go, and plan to shoot outdoors. It isn't expensive, it fits very snugly, and it gets rid of 90% of the wind noise.

Works Perfectly!
I need a mic that would plug into my iPhone 14 Pro Max and provide quality audio for live streaming a military retirement ceremony outside on top of a carrier. This rabbit, along with the Rode mic didn’t miss a beat. It was about 8-12mph winds and no audio issues and everything was clear and easy to understand. I highly recommend this product.

Great quality but....
I know it's not meant for the deity d3 pro, the quality of it is nice but I'm going to give it 3 stars case for some reason even thought the package said ddc-go deadcat I believe this is meant for the video mic pro cause the opening is a small whole on the bottom instead of the back.

Can be visible from phone
I bought this to go with my Rode VideoMic II and had a cold shoe mount on the top of the smart phone clamp. While the neoprene or foam windsock was not visible, the furry dead cat was. I had video set to 1 optical zoom, so I had to pull the mic out of the top shock mount and lay it on top so that the microphone pointed slightly up. I recorded outside and the sound was okay. For where I was I probably only needed the foam shield, but this is what I put on the mic in case of wind noise. So, what you need is a cold shoe bracket that raises the microphone much higher than what would be provided with a smartphone clamp on a tripod. The microphone needed to be higher. Not the fault of the Rode furry windsock, but you wont want the top end of that fur ball visible in your smartphone video.

The Røde go mic is very great for indoor use, however, the Røde mic is very unsuited for recording outside due to the slighest bit of wind. But the Røde Go Deadcat wind muff fixes this issue greatly. The item is of high quality and build and basically says what it does on the box. My only niggle is I think this muff should be able to be bought in a bundle with the mic itself, but this is not really a problem. If the price may put you off, the product is defiantly worth the money as you are limiting the capabilitys of your mic without it.

Fit’s over my Microphone well. I haven’t had a chance to use it outside on a windy day yet.
