I've been through two external CD writers that have been defective, or didn't work with my MacBook Pro. Was so happy that this one actually did! It's pretty easy to use. Plug into USB, insert a CD, and you're good to go. I appreciate that this unit includes an adaptor for USB C as well. If you have a Mac, it's important to note that initially the unit won't show up on your computer. After you put a CD in, it should show up in finder. I've been able to write CDs and import files as well. Fingers crossed it keeps working!

This has now officially gained a place in my laptop bag and is a permanent piece of equipment I take with me everywhere. I made the mistake of thinking that the cloud, streaming, and USB/SSD drives had made the need for a CD ROM a thing of the past... until I needed to use one. I went to two different big box stores and none had any external drives in stock. I ordered this one and it is built great, reads all my CDs and functions just the way I had hoped. Very affordable and the small design makes it easy to use on the road or even at home. A very good value and happy with the product.

Great product! Plug n’ play works all day!! I needed this to transfer my old home movies from DVD to my computer. It was plug and play like it said and the quality was great.

I ordered this product for a laptop without a Disc Drive and, not only did it arrive early, it was easy to hook up and use. It was hooked up as soon as it arrived and it didn't take long before it was reading our DVD. It also does a really good job at reading and installing our old computer games. I'm really happy with my purchase.

I bought this as a backup since my PC doesn't have a DVD drive. Never needed it until today, so I never tested it. Bad idea since the return window is long since closed. Well, had a hard time even trying it since I couldn't get the door open. I noticed the left side if the door was just hanging and wouldn't eject when I pressed the button. I tried the backup pinhole and after about 10 minutes I finally got the door open. Understandably I was reluctant to put my DVD in it, but I tried anyhow. It struggled to read the DVD even though it was a commercial disc. I finally gave up and fired up an old computer that had a DVD drive and was able to use it. I will play with this more, but it's simply not working and I'm very disappointed.

What is there to say. You plug it in, wait a few minutes for the computer to recognize it and you're good to go. I needed it to install a few older programs on a new laptop and it worked like a charm. Can't beat the price, if I could have, I would have and you would be reading this review on a different drive. 👍

Great price but only works with Windows 7.0, have to upload on receipt

Working very well. Plug-and-play, no driver installation needed. Used with laptop via USB Type-C. Read CDs and DVDs smoothly without lag or noise. Build quality is decent for the price. Good option if your laptop doesn’t have an internal DVD drive.

The product worked for the first day, and after that, it suddenly stopped reading any CD? i tried everything, and the drive itself was even readable on my Laptop, but the CD that initially it read, it stopped reading. and it stopped reading any CD whatsoever. Terrible tbh. The price is OK, but yeah, for that price, you can see what horrible quality you get.
