PINK FLOYD / DARK SIDE OF MOON - Vinyl LP. The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth album by the English rock band Pink Floyd. Originally released on 1 March 1973, on the label Harvest, it built on ideas explored in the band's earlier recordings and live shows, but departs from instrumental thematic by founding member Syd Barrett. The album explores themes including conflict, greed, the passage of time, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by Barrett's deteriorating mental state. - Developed during live performances, an early version was premiered several months before recording began; new material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at Abbey Road in London. The group used some advanced recording techniques at the time, including multitrack recording and tape loops. Analogue synthesizers were prominent in several tracks, and snippets from recorded interviews with Pink Floyd's road crew and others provided philosophical quotations throughout. Engineer Alan Parsons was responsible for many distinctively notable sonic aspects and the recruitment of non-lexical singer Clare Torry. The album's iconic sleeve, designed by Storm Thorgerson, depicts a prism dispersing light into colour and represents the band's lighting, the record's thematic material, and keyboardist Richard Wright's "simple and bold" design request. •Stereo remastered album on heavyweight 180g vinyl •Original UK release date: March 1973 •Certified 15 times platinum in the US and 14 times platinum in the UK •Reached number one in the UK and the US •Topped Billboard Top LPs and Tapes and charted for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988 •Pink Floyd's most commercially successful album and one of the best selling worldwide 2016 version Remastered from the original analogue tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante, and Bernie Grundman.

Greatest album ever conceived (especially on vinyl)
I mean come on, it's The Dark Side of The Moon, probably the greatest albums ever made, and the vinyl came in perfectly intact and it sounds euphoric as always

Great album!
Great album. Unclear why I hadn't purchased it already, but now my collection is complete. Not really complete, but it sounded nice in my head regardless.

Great album and great art work
Though this is NOT a 1st addition album, it works for me and what I needed it for. I bought one of those album frames that holds 6 albums (bought 2) and displays them for the album art (I also have a turntable to play them) but I LOVE this iconic Pink Floyd album cover and didn't have one. I could have found an original, but they are typically worn and I wanted new. There were two very nice posters inside the sleeve and it's an double open cover so the inside had the words to the songs. It is as I expected it to be. Very nice.

A fine remaster by any measure
The 50th anniversary edition of this beloved recording is faithfully done. There are many pressings of this classic and this one does not disappoint. You may prefer the other anniversary edition, but you just cannot go wrong with this one. Some prefer the 30th Anniversary by Doug Sax.

Pink Floyd DSOTM 50th Anniversary vinyl
Excellent reissue ! Best of the modern releases with an excellent sound, ImoFor the price of an original issue compared to what it costs for this reissue quality wise, its a no brainer as far as being a great deal, not to mention the pressing is very flat !ADVICE ....always clean any new vinyl records BEFORE playing to remove the accumulated manufacturer dust & contaminants if you don't want any stress !

Glorious album
50 years on is a funny time to be listening to The Dark Side Of The Moon for the first time. I’ve been a Pink Floyd fan for 45 years, but I could never get into their most famous and successful album. I always loved the ones before and after (Meddle and Wish You Were Here), but this one did little for me. It wasn’t until I heard Roger Waters’ remake of it, which I enjoyed hugely, that I really started to gain an appreciation it. This is a sparkling new edition with outstanding sound, and I could not recommend it more highly.

Excelente
La calidad del prensado es buena y permite apreciar detalles que a veces se pierden en digital: los efectos, las voces de fondo y la profundidad de los instrumentos destacan mucho más. Temas como “Time”, “Money” y “Us and Them” suenan especialmente bien en formato vinilo.
